Chapter 288: I Promise to Behave

“Is it that no matter what I say, you’re still determined to send me away?”
Bai Wei speaks tremulously, her slender body retreating backward, her voice crying out in accusations with tears streaming down her face.

Bai Wei suddenly screams, clutching her head as if maddened, sinking to the ground.
“Wei’er, mind your language,” Dan Hanjie raises an eyebrow, glances at Qin Youxuan who is still asleep, and steps out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Not wanting her to be awakened.
Seeing his actions, Bai Wei becomes even more hysterical, “Are the feelings we’ve fostered over all these years weaker than those for an unknown woman?”
“Jie, I know you better than anyone else, you’ve been looking for me all this time I’ve been missing. I know you have feelings for me, if it wasn’t for her, you wouldn’t treat me , I hate her!”
“Enough!” Dan Hanjie snaps, his patience visibly thinning.
“I’ve told you many times; you are my sister.”
“If you truly consider me as your sister, why do you insist on sending me away? Let me stay, I promise to behave…Jie, I beg you!”
She doesn’t want to live through days without seeing him.
This isn’t the life she wants.
As long as she can stay by his side, even as his sister, she’s willing…
“I’ve already arranged things with the American side, you choose a day and Yao will take you back.” Dan Hanjie lips move in a non-negotiable tone.
Bai Wei shudders, retreating step by step.
Desperately shaking her head, “No, I won’t go back, a place without my brother is not my home.”
“I don’t want to go back…”

Bai Wei spins around and recklessly charges headfirst into the wall.
Like a madman, Bai Wei uses her own head to crazily bash the wall.
Dan Hanjie startles, steps forwards, and grabs her wrist, pulling her back harshly to stop her actions.
“Let me go! If you won’t let me stay, what’s the point of living….” Blood seeps from Bai Wei’s forehead, pooling and spreading with her struggles, a ghastly sight.
“I miss my brother, I want to go find my brother…”
Bai Wei forcefully pries off Dan Hanjie’s hand and charges headlong again toward the wall.
The, thud, thud, thud of her hitting the wall is heart-wrenching.
Soon enough, Bai Wei has battered her head till it bleeds.
Dan Hanjie stands behind her, watching her actions and frowning.
Bai Wei’s words are a ceaseless reminder to him – his life was a sacrifice given by Bai Huo.
He can’t possibly stand by and watch his only sister seeking death…
The room door opens from the inside.
Qin Youxuan stumbles out, rubbing at her sleepy eyes. Seeing Dan Hanjie outside the door, she subconsciously snuggles into his arms and mumbles, “What’s that noise? It’s too noisy.”
As she speaks, another crash diverts her attention and she instinctively turns her head.
Dan Hanjie freezes, not expecting her to wake. Subconsciously, he covers her head, preventing her from turning around.
Seeing Dan Hanjie, who had always kept her at a distance, cozying up with a woman, Bai Wei appears shell-shocked.
In the moment she returned to her senses, she carelessly charges into the wall with suicidal intent.
