Chapter 304: Trial Marriage Agreement
“I remember now, I remember…what do you want me to do?” Qin Youxuan blinked her cat-like eyes, curiously observing him.
Why was he all of the sudden mentioning the condition that she had agreed to, that she’d almost forgotten about?
Dan Hanjie pulled out a document from beside him, unfolded it in front of her, and placed a pen in her hand before she even had a chance to read it.
Qin Youxuan looked at the pen in her hand, then raised her eyes to look at the document on the table.
Recognizing the content of the agreement, she was completely taken aback.
After a long pause, she found her voice again, “Dan…Dan Hanjie, this is a marriage contract…”
“I know.” Dan Hanjie replied disinterestedly. His black eyes were calm and unrippled, showing not even a hint of joy.
“We…” Before Qin Youxuan could complete her sentence, she was tongue-tied.
No proposal, no engagement ring, just a marriage contract sprung up on her out of nowhere…
Qin Youxuan was completely lost for words.
When she saw the detached expression on Dan Hanjie’s face, not even the slightest of excitement stirred within her.
He approached this as if it were a business deal.
A transaction predicated on marriage.
“Don’t forget, this is something you owe me.” Seeing her hesitation, Dan Hanjie’s face hardened even more, and an icy chill appeared in his black eyes.
He observed her wavering demeanor.
Qin Youxuan was startled by his shout, her hand holding the pen started trembling. She lifted her gaze to look at him.
Confirming he wasn’t joking, she bit her lip.
A commitment she agreed to without thinking has turned into a contract for her to sell herself.
“Can I ask why?” Qin Youxuan stubbornly held onto the pen, murmuring her question.
“You’re the CEO of the Dan Group. Your marriage will undoubtedly affect many interests. Marrying me could only do harm to you…”
“I thought you’d be more concerned about the terms of the contract.” Hanjie interrupted her. Reclining in his seat, he took with him back Qin Youxuan holding in her hand the contract and the pen without a cap.
Her body swayed. Qin Youxuan sat upright on his lap, flicked the contract open to study its content.
She skipped over the sections dividing the interests and detailing the property, until she saw the contract’s duration. Her feline eyes widened in surprise.
So, the marriage he wanted would only last that long.
A lump formed in Qin Youxuan’s throat. She didn’t know what to feel.
She bit her lip and hurriedly signed her name at the back of the contract and then closed the file to hand it to him.
She no longer cared about his sudden desire to get married.
Only a year, she thought. It’s a debt she owed him.
Dan Hanjie watched her sign the contract swiftly, his enchanting eyes narrowed, casting a faint glimmer.
His arm, which held her, suddenly tightened.
Was she so insistent on not signing before because she was worried he would tie her down for the rest of her life?
“I’ve signed.” Qin Youxuan found that he never took the contract from her. She raised her head to look at him.
Hanjie suddenly took her hand. Qin Youxuan jumped, and the document fell to the floor.
The next moment, her petite frame was hoisted up into his arms as he strode towards the lounge.
“Dan Hanjie, you’ve taken a lot from me today already…”
“The wedding night is different.”
Qin Youxuan’s struggle was in vain, she was carried straight into the lounge.
No sooner had she been roused from hunger, than Dan Hanjie had made her satiated in a completely different way.
