Chapter 352: It wasn’t me
The butler of Yujing Villa, with two rows of bodyguards, stood respectfully outside the main gate.
Dan Hanjie’s face was stern, without uttering a word, he strode past everyone, heading towards the direction of the living room.
The hand by his side clenched so tight it squeaked.
Bai Wei, who had been confined in the living room, saw Dan Hanjie appear, as if her savior had finally arrived. She quickly stood up from the sofa and approached him.
“These servants have become more and more undisciplined, bizarrely…ah!”
Bai Wei’s words were cut off as an arm strangled her neck, lifting her whole body off the ground.
She shrieked in panic.
Startled, she widened her eyes, staring at Dan Hanjie, who exuded an aura of bloodthirst and brutality. Her hands desperately clawed at his arm as she glimpsed murderous intent in his eyes.
She tried to cry out for help, but couldn’t utter a word.
Her face turned red, she found it hard to breathe, and her struggles began to weaken…
Her legs kicked powerlessly in the air, her eyes filled with terror.
Just when she thought she was about to die, Dan Hanjie released his grip and threw her onto the sofa. She hit the sofa hard and bounced off onto the floor.
Bai Wei was in so much pain that she almost fainted.
She coughed violently, fresh blood seeped from the corner of her mouth.
Still dazed, she instinctively scrambled up from the floor on her knees, retreating in fear, trying to keep a distance from the enraged Dan Hanjie.
Her wide, deer-like eyes filled with fear, fixated on him.
She grabbed a throw cushion from the sofa and placed it protectively in front of her.
“I warned you not to mess with Wei’er. You’ve been very disobedient. This makes things difficult for me.” Dan Hanjie strode expressionlessly closer, towering over the retreating Bai Wei.
His voice was calm, betraying no emotion.
He clenched his fist and the cracking sound of his knuckles was chilling.
Witnessing his formidable grip, Bai Wei envisioned her own bones crushing under his palm and started to tremble uncontrollably.
“Don’t, don’t come any closer …”
“I didn’t do anything, I don’t understand what you’re talking about …”
Bai Wei’s eyes filled with fear, subconsciously aware of something, but too terrified to admit it.
Dan Hanjie sneered, each word from his lips trailed with frostiness, filled with coldness.
With a wave of his hand, Yao stepped forward.
He placed a laptop on the table in the living room. The screen displayed the surveillance footage of the villa – the day when Dan Hanjie fainted in his study.
The image of Bai Wei barging into the study and covertly downloading files from his desktop onto her phone was clear as day.
“Now I give you the chance to explain. If I hear one more lie, I will cut off your tongue.” Dan Hanjie’s voice became incredibly calm, even his brutal temperament seemed to have disappeared.
Those who knew him were aware that this was the onset of his real anger.
Bai Wei’s lips quivered, she wanted to argue, but didn’t dare to.
She hadn’t expected that Dan Hanjie’s study would have so many hidden cameras.
“You’re usually so talkative, why quiet now?”
Dan Hanjie stepped forward, stopping in front of Bai Wei. He stood there, watching her sitting on the ground, her panic-stricken face streaked with tears, and slowly reached out his hand.
Bai Wei shuddered, tears streamed down her face, her tearful eyes staring at the hand offered to her.
After hesitating for a long while, just as she was about to reach out to him, Dan Hanjie’s bone-chilling voice echoed through the room, “Take out your phone.”
