Chapter 400: Chapter 400 His Unconscious Reaction
The experts assembled together, busily discussing plans for bringing down the fever in hushed whispers.
Dan Hanjie’s lips on the bed moved slightly, muttering something.
“I’m here.” Qin Youxuan bypassed the team of experts, rushing straight to his bedside, grabbing his hand.
“Dan Hanjie, I’m here, open your eyes and look at me.”
Haven’t slept all night, Qin Youxuan’s eyes were filled with crimson. The petite figure knelt by the bedside, her wet clothes just changed and her hair still damp, hanging in strands over her shoulders.
She was shivering with cold sweat, and despite everyone’s advice, she wouldn’t rest, persistently staying by the side of feverish Dan Hanjie.
Dan Hanjie kept repeating the same word in a low voice, until Qin Youxuan snuggled next to him. His furrowed eyebrows finally relaxed slightly as he settled down.
His fingertips were turning pale, his arms were covered in scratches, a fresh bandage covered his knife wound on the chest and his body temperature felt as hot as a red-hot iron.
Qin Youxuan held his hand firmly, their fingers intertwined.
“Miss Qin, you have caught a cold yourself, you should rest. Leave this to the doctors!” Yao approached her respectfully, seeing her looking unwell, trying to persuade her.
“Walk with me.” Jiang Jinchen was less respectful, he grabbed Qin Youxuan’s arm to drag her away.
“Jiang Jinchen, what are you doing! Let me go…”
Before Jiang Jinchen could drag Qin Youxuan away, Dan Hanjie roused, his large hand firmly gripping hers.
His fever was almost forty degrees, people’s consciousness would usually be blurred at this stage, yet Dan Hanjie could still recognize the person beside him.
“I’m here, Dan Hanjie, I am.” Qin Youxuan rushed back to his side, gripping his sizable hands tightly.
Dan Hanjie’s dark eyes were tightly shut, but his expression softened, gradually calming down.
He stopped muttering.
His head unconsciously turned towards Qin Youxuan, inhaling her familiar scent. The rosiness on his face subsided a little.
Gradually, even his breath wasn’t as hot as before…
“His fever seems to be receding…” Qin Youxuan, still clutching his hand, cried out in surprise.
A doctor immediately approached, taking out a thermometer to take his temperature.
“The fever indeed seems to be receding, prepare a fever-reducing injection, let’s see if we can bring the temperature down all at once.” The doctor turned around to give the order excitedly, then looked at Dan Hanjie clutching Qin Youxuan’s hand, “Miss Qin, Mr. Jie seems unwilling to let go of you, I guess you will have to bear with us and stay by his side while we treat him.”

The doctors quickly discussed a plan for reducing the fever and administered an injection to Dan Hanjie.
From beginning to end, Dan Hanjie didn’t fully regain consciousness, but whenever Qin Youxuan moved, his head would unconsciously tilt towards her.
Only when firmly gripping her hand would he fall asleep.
By the time his fever subsided and he was out of a critical state, Qin Youxuan had already fainted beside his hospital bed.
Early in the morning, Jiang Jinchen, unusually not holding a cup of coffee but a cup of ginger tea, came out of the kitchen.
