Chapter 413: A Gift With Ingenuity
“Dan Hanjie, where’s my gift?”
Qin Youxuan rolled over on the sofa, gazing at him expectantly.
It was the first time he was giving her a present, and she was eager to see what it would be.
Dan Hanjie loosened his tie, walked a few steps forward, and took a seat in front of her.
From his gesture, Qin Youxuan deciphered what he wanted. She weakly got up from the sofa and tiptoed to tie his tie.
“We’re about to go to bed, why bother tying the tie? It’s going to be taken off anyway.”
“It seems you didn’t appreciate my performance before and can’t wait to spend another round with me, is that right?” Dan Hanjie blocked her waist with one hand and bit her delicate earlobe.
“You think I didn’t say anything just now?” Qin Youxuan quickly tied his tie tightly and quickly stepped back.
Dan Hanjie glanced at her, didn’t comment, walked over to the phone and pressed the intercom, “Bring the thing up.”
At the sound of his words, Qin Youxuan immediately pricked her ears.
Yet Dan Hanjie said nothing more and hung up the phone.
Qin Youxuan couldn’t sit still anymore.
She stood up from the sofa, walked to the door, pulled it open, and eagerly waited.
Her reaction greatly satisfied Dan Hanjie. He sat back on the sofa, propping his chin with one hand while watching her.
It wasn’t long before Yao brought up a square gift box.
Seeing Qin Youxuan waiting by the door, Yao was slightly taken aback.
Dan Hanjie’s deep voice uttered his command.
Qin Youxuan was staring at the gift box within reach, then turned to look at him again.
Fortunately, Yao was quick on his feet. Despite a slight delay, he carried the box and set it on the table.
He then respectfully stepped aside.
“Can I open it now?” Qin Youxuan’s eyes were full of anticipation. Her hands had already touched the edge of the box. Sensing movement inside, she couldn’t wait any longer.
She had a hunch there would be a pet inside.
She could hear the scratching of claws against the box…
At Dan Hanjie’s nod, Qin Youxuan had the ribbons and lid off the box in no time.
A fluffy white bundle came into view, and Qin Youxuan was so surprised she didn’t know how to react.
“Such an adorable little puppy.”
Only a few months old, it looked not much bigger than a cat.
She thought that since Dan Hanjie kept calling her ‘kitty’, he might give her a cat as a pet. She didn’t expect to receive such a cute puppy instead.
Qin Youxuan picked up the fluffy little thing with one hand and cradled it in her arms, stroking its fur. She looked at Dan Hanjie.
“Thank you, I love this gift,” she said with sincere gratitude.
She had loved animals since she was a child, but she never had a chance to have a pet.
There were no pets in Yujing Villa.
She had asked the butler once, and he had told her it was because Dan Hanjie didn’t like pets. She was deeply disappointed at the time.
“It’s a wolf,” Dan Hanjie said coldly, glancing indifferently at the little creature that kept burrowing into her arms.
Qin Youxuan froze, her hand suspending in mid-air with the pet.
Perhaps sensing her stiffness, the small creature let out a whine, grabbed hold of her clothes with its paw and pulled it into its mouth.
Its sharp teeth shredded her clothes in an instant…
“You, what did you just say it is?”
It took a while for Qin Youxuan to regain her voice, and she asked tremulously.
She pinched her thigh hard to refrain from throwing away the little wolf cub nuzzling against her chest!
