“Nothing, just had a strange dream.”
It wasn’t exactly a nightmare, just unspeakably odd.
She didn’t know how to explain this feeling to him.
“Dan Hanjie, how are things going with the issue? Is it hard?” Qin Youxuan met his caring gaze and couldn’t help but ask.
“Take care of yourself and leave the rest to me.”
“But you’re so tired.”
Qin Youxuan reached out to touch his face, her eyebrows furrowed in sympathy.
The dark circles under his eyes were becoming increasingly noticeable, but he kept claiming he was okay.
“Then take good care of me. If you take care of me well, my spirits will naturally lift. It’s more effective than any rest.” Hanjie’s lips parted faintly.
“Dan Hanjie, you’re shameless.”
“I was talking about eating, what were you thinking, hm?”
Qin Youxuan was stunned and immediately turned red. She turned round and ran away.
She definitely was not thinking about embarrassing things in broad daylight, absolutely not!
During the evening meal, she just ate a bowl of rice under Dan Hanjie’s teasing gaze, not even realizing whether she had eaten any vegetables.
Finally finishing dinner, Qin Youxuan was about to sneak back to her room when Dan Hanjie grabbed her and took her outside.
“Where are we going?” Qin Youxuan asked, panicking, as he held her hand and they struggled to move forward.
Dan Hanjie’s handsome face showed no extra expression. He put her down and held her hand as they began to walk away.
Qin Youxuan looked at him holding her hand, then up at their Yujing Villa behind them, her eyes widened in surprise.
She had not left the house for several days and she felt she barely knew what the world outside was like.
Qin Youxuan fluttered her cat-like eyes, and as she saw the scenery passing by, her face unconsciously relaxed and she smiled lightly.
“Dan Hanjie, where are we going?”
Dan Hanjie looked back at her, glimpsed the excitement on her face, felt a momentary pang in his heart, and pulled her into his arms.
Qin Youxuan moved, but he just held her tighter.
“Dan Hanjie, are you feeling okay? If you’re not feeling well, we can just go back.” Qin Youxuan was a bit nervous as he stayed silent.
“Kitty, give me time.”
His deep voice sounded slowly.
Qin Youxuan was startled, taking a few seconds to realize that he was explaining.
She smiled, her face showing no sign of reluctance.
“It’s okay, after all, you’ve already told me. If we wait a little longer, it’ll be okay. It’s only a few days of not going out, not as if I can never go out for the rest of my life. Besides, aren’t you taking me out for a walk now? Dan Hanjie, I’m really happy.”
He didn’t need to put so much pressure on himself.
She could take care of herself.
Dan Hanjie didn’t say anything more, just staring at her.
His long fingers traced her brows, and the next second, he leaned down and kissed the corner of her mouth.
“Dan Hanjie, we agreed to go for a walk.” Qin Youxuan clutched his arm, looking at the man who seemed intent on carrying her back to the villa and devouring her.
“Hmm, I’ll take you somewhere.”
Dan Hanjie took a deep breath, resisting the urge to take her back immediately, and let her go. He took her small hand and continued walking.
Qin Youxuan was instantly excited, looking around constantly, imagining where Dan Hanjie might take her.
