The butler couldn’t help but subtly cough twice, winking emphatically at them.

After gulping down three bowls, even Qin Youxuan thought he was about to get full from the soup. She reached out to stop him, quickly pressing his arm, “That’s enough, you’ve almost finished the whole pot of soup. How are we going to eat dinner?”
“Didn’t you want me to drink more?” Hanjie’s enchanting eyes lifted slightly as he paused his hand.
“…I did, but you really can’t drink anymore. You have to save some room for dinner. If you really like it, I can make it again.” The words slipped out of Qin Youxuan’s mouth and she froze.
“I do like it, but I won’t let you into the kitchen again. My woman doesn’t have to do such rough work.” Dan Hanjie pulled her closer to him.
He seized her hand to inspect it carefully.
He noticed several marks that looked like burn scars and his expression darkened in an instant.
His grip on her hand tightened.
Qin Youxuan quickly wriggled her hand out of his hold and hid it behind her back. Her face fell, “You knew from the start that I made it, didn’t you? No wonder you were going along with it. I thought the soup I made was actually good.”
“It really was quite good.”
“You don’t need to console me. If it really was good, how did you know I was the one who made it? I’ve never made soup for you before.” Qin Youxuan said, pointing at her fingers, suddenly feeling quite disappointed.
She had thought he actually liked the soup she made.
“It really was quite good.” Dan Hanjie repeated, “I didn’t figure it out, he told me.”
Dan Hanjie pointed at the butler standing behind Qin Youxuan.
“The butler didn’t say anything.”

The hints from the butler weren’t many, but he would always pay close attention to her, and she was quite different today.

“Don’t go back into the kitchen.”

Qin Youxuan reached out and tugged at the corner of his lips, “Smile for me. If the smile isn’t handsome, I’ll send you back, all packed up!”
The servants surrounding them struggled to stifle their laughter and turned their heads.
