Dan Hanjie’s tall figure stiffened.
As he watched her painful crumble to the ground, he too, was at a loss of how to react.
In the next second his body bent rapidly, scooping her back up into his arms, “Cat!”
“My stomach… it hurts so much…”
Qin Youxuan bit her lip, so hard that blood was drawn. Her small hand tightly clutched his shirt. She rested her pained body against him, raising her head
Rui Hui rushed over, her face paled in shock at Youxuan’s colorless face. “Quick, lay her down flat, try not to put pressure on her stomach.”
Upon hearing her words, Dan Hanjie quickly regained his senses and gently laid Qin Youxuan down.
Rui Hui moved closer, studying her condition. She felt her pulse quietly, her serious expression not revealing any signs of her thoughts.
Qin Youxuan looked at her with pleading eyes.
She had no idea what had happened to her. Lying down did make her feel a lot better. Yet, she feared that if she assured them of her wellbeing, Dan Hanjie would still insist on sending her away.
After a while, Rui Hui finally released her hand, her gaze softening as she glanced at Qin Youxuan before returning to her examination.
“Take her back to her room for now, she should avoid any strenuous activity.”
Without uttering a word, Dan Hanjie carefully carried Qin Youxuan back to her room.
“You guys should leave. I need to examine her privately.”
Rui Hui stood at the head of the bed and turned toward the two men in the room. “Your presence will just make things uncomfortable.”
Dan Hanjie glanced at Yao who quickly excused himself and left them.
But Dan Hanjie remained motionless.
“I’ve seen every inch of her, just do what you need to do.”
Rui Hui was visibly stunned.
His bluntness caught her off guard, she thought, couldn’t he consider the feelings of a single woman?!.
Feeling awkward, Rui Hui couldn’t help but grind her teeth while Dan Hanjie’s attention remained focused on Qin Youxuan’s pale face.
“Does she need to go to a hospital?” he asked.
Rui Hui glanced at the bloodstained trousers Youxuan was wearing, then shook her head, “It’s unlikely that the hospital could do much. Preparing a potent ginger soup for her to drink might help.”
Pausing for a moment, she added, “It’s a woman’s monthly cycle, but due to her cold body constitution, she suffers more.”
Reacting to her words, Dan Hanjie arched his eyebrows. “She can’t stand the taste of ginger. Find another method.”
“I understand. Give me some time.”
Rui Hui turned and left the room.
Dan Hanjie sat beside the bed, helping Qin Youxuan sit up, allowing her to lean against him.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he picked her up and took her to the bathroom.
“Dan Hanjie, please don’t send me away. I’m so scared of not seeing you…”
Qin Youxuan nestled into his embrace, breathing in his scent, her nose stinging with unshed tears.
Being accompanied by a loved one during a hardship is indeed a blessing.
She wished to offer him the same comfort.
Thinking she had been frightened by the situation, Dan Hanjie’s eyes slightly flickered, “Stay at Yujing Villa for a few days.”
He knew how difficult her periods were.
He wasn’t sure if he could bear to send her away during such a time.
Only after changing her clothes did Dan Hanjie carry her back to the bed.
Exhausted from the pain, Qin Youxuan nestled in his arms, her eyelids were heavy with sleep. But her hand was still tightly clenching his shirt, fearing that once she fell asleep, he would disappear.
“Go to sleep, I’ll be right here.”
Dan Hanjie tenderly brushed her nose, comforting her, as one would a child.
