Qin Youxuan looked up and saw that Yao had arrived.
The car stopped right in front of them.
Qin Youxuan tugged at the hem of Dan Hanjie’s clothing, “Today is our first visit home after announcing our marriage, you’re not allowed to initiate fights.”
Dan Hanjie turned to look at her, a cold light in his eyes.
They hadn’t even officially confronted each other yet, and she was already leaning towards Jin Chenye.
“He is only a brother now, don’t be so sensitive.” As Qin Youxuan lightly scratched his palm, the pale little face lit up with laughter. She wasn’t as nervous as expected.
“Thief’s heart never dies.” Dan Hanjie gripped her hand tightly, grinding out a few words.
“And you said before that you were going to send me back?” Qin Youxuan stared at him firmly. Seeing Dan Hanjie freeze, she reached out to unfasten his seatbelt.
Only then did she unbuckle her own.
She looked up at Dan Hanjie who was remaining silent and sneered, “Let’s see if you dare to drive me away anymore.”
Dan Hanjie glanced sideways at her, his profound black eyes watching her for a while before he spoke, “I’ll remember to find you a place far away from Jin Chenye first.”
Did he mean he still wanted to send her away?
“Dan Hanjie, we agreed…”
“It was just a joke, don’t take it seriously. Time to get out of the car.”
Dan Hanjie shot a sideways glance at Jin Chenye, who was watching them, leaned over and gave a kiss on Qin Youxuan’s cheek, before opening the car door to get out.
Qin Youxuan was stunned, and quickly pushed open the car door.
Before she could even get out of the car, Dan Hanjie already walked around to her door, bent down and picked her up.
“It’s only a few steps, I can walk by myself.”
“Did you forget what the doctor said? You’re not supposed to engage in strenuous activities right now.” Holding her firmly in his arms, Dan Hanjie walked forward without any embarrassment.
A few steps should not be considered strenuous exercise, but facing his undeniable expression, she gave up resisting.
She took the gift box from Yao’s hand. Before Qin Youxuan had a chance to ask what was in it, Dan Hanjie was already carrying her towards Jin Chenye.
“You’re visiting your own house and still brought a gift.” Jin Chenye’s gentle gaze fell on her, swept across Qin Youxuan’s face and then settled on her hands.
Embarrassed, Qin Youxuan ran her hands through her hair and got down from Dan Hanjie’s arms.
She laughed awkwardly, “That’s why we brought gifts, because we’re visiting our own house. After all, it’s not my money, it would be a waste not to buy something.”
“…Still as capricious as ever.”
Jin Chenye’s eyes shimmered, as if he was seeing her for the first time in America.
Despite facing danger, she showed no signs of panic on her face, but instead, a captivating mischief and wit.
Having noticed Jin Chenye’s momentary loss of focus, Dan Hanjie guessed what he was thinking and the grip on Qin Youxuan’s hand tightened.
His eyes instantly darkened.
Qin Youxuan shivered, quickly stepped between the two men and laughed, “Today is the weekend. Dad should be home, right? We haven’t had a chance to see him since we announced our wedding.”
Qin Youxuan cleared the intention of their visit today with one statement.
“Dad is at home, drinking tea.” Jin Chenye took the gift box from her hands, turned around and walked off.
Qin Youxuan looked down at her empty hand and then at Jin Chenye’s back. Her eyes flickered.
She could tell that he had originally intended to go out.
“I told you that a thief’s heart never dies.” The enchanting gleam in Dan Hanjie’s eyes hid a touch of cold menace as he gritted his teeth.
