Chapter 647: Chapter 647: The Invitation is Just a Reminder
“A group of elite personnel from the manor have come, saying that they were ordered to protect Miss Qin, and are waiting for Mr. Jie’s accept them.” Yao repeated the news he had just received.
Dan Hanjie furrowed his brows, not understanding what Dan Yi was playing at.
The next second, his eyes flicked with realization, and he lifted his head. “Turn around, go back to the villa.”
As Dan Hanjie’s car drove into the private villa, he saw Qin Youxuan come running out from inside.
She stood in front of his car, catching her breath, waiting for him to get out.
Dan Hanjie stepped out to face her, raising a finger to brush loose strands of her hair back behind her ear, and playfully touched her small nose.
She had run so quickly that she had broken out in a light sweat on the tip of her small nose.
Qin Youxuan gasped for air, pointing towards the flock of a hundred people who had shown up in the courtyard. “I woke up and saw that you weren’t here, so I thought about going to the hospital to check on Jiang Jinchen, but as soon as I went outside, I noticed a bunch of people following me. It scared me, so I had the driver turn around immediately.”
Upon returning to the villa, she found out that this group of people was here to protect her.
Now Qin Youxuan was completely dumbfounded.
With so many people following her, she wouldn’t need to go anywhere anymore.
Dan Hanjie glanced in the direction she was pointing and could tell from their outfits and weapons that they were dispatched by Dan Yi.
His eyes flashed, and taking Qin Youxuan’s hand, he led her inside. “These people were sent by my uncle. I will handle it.”
Hearing his words, Qin Youxuan sighed in relief.
It’s all good as long as it wasn’t him who let these people follow her.
Taking that many people with her, she feared that others would think she’s planning a terrorist attack and she’d be taken in by the police.
“Mr. Jie, all these people have come from the manor, saying they are to obey your commands. If Mr. Jie has any other needs, do not hesitate to ask. Also, there is a banquet invitation here. Please be prepared, and make sure to attend.” Yao stepped forward and placed the invitation on the table.
Qin Youxuan didn’t pay attention to his earlier words; all she heard was that Dan Yi wanted Dan Hanjie to attend a banquet.
She leaned in, picked up the invitation off the table, and opened it first to take a look.
She was puzzled to find it empty.
Turning her head towards Dan Hanjie, she waved the blank invitation in her hand with a perplexed look on her face.
“It should be an internal staff shift meeting within the consortium. No invitation is really necessary – this is more of a reminder.” Dan Hanjie took the invitation from her, scanned it casually, and tossed it into the trash bin.
“Have someone prepare outfits and jewelry according to her measurements and deliver them to the villa before the banquet.”
In Dan Hanjie’s bewitching gaze, there was a faint gleam, his thin lips slightly parting.
Yao was taken aback, then he nodded, “I understand.”
“Are you taking me with you?”
Qin Youxuan blinked her cat-like eyes in surprise, looking up at him.
“Leaving you alone in the villa, I wouldn’t be at ease.” Holding her face with his large hands, he swept his fingers across her cheek, leaning down to press a kiss on her lips.
“I’ll be alright. There will probably be many elders from the Dan family at this kind of occasion. Would it cause trouble if you take me?” Qin Youxuan asked, worried.
She knew without having to ask, there was a large gap between her and Dan Hanjie.
Her family background was such that, in the eyes of the Dan family, she could be dismissed in an instant.
Attending the banquet with him, she was afraid she would create problems for him.
