Qin Youxuan, who had purposely instructed the driver to slow down but now listened to the man casually blaming traffic, quietly gave him a mental thumbs up.
“This is my wife, Qin Youxuan. Uncle might be familiar with her.” Hanjie nudged Youxuan forward a bit, hinting her to greet him.
With a blink of her cat-like eyes, Youxuan sweetly greeted, “Uncle.”
“She has always wanted to thank you personally for arranging her protection, so I brought her.” Hanjie’s words were nonchalant.
His enchanting eyes glowed with a peculiar light.
Others might not understand, but Dan Yi would.
It seemed he had discerned something about the assassination attempt; everyone needed to maintain dignity in this delicate situation.
What’s more, the first person Hanjie greeted at the Dan Family’s banquet wasn’t his biological father, but his uncle.

Dan Yi placed his glass of red wine on the table and turned toward several lavishly dressed middle-aged men in the crowd.
“I don’t understand business matters. It’s not really convenient for me to tag along. I’ll find a place to sit for a while. When you’re done, you can come and keep me company.” Qin Youxuan looked ahead at the departing Dan Yi, speaking quietly.
Her bright cat-like eyes gleamed with mischievous light.
The moment Dan Hanjie saw her, he knew she didn’t like Dan Yi and found it tiresome to be insincere.
“There are many secrets in this old mansion. Don’t run around.” Hanjie’s look softened and he kissed her on the corner of her lips, affectionately scratching her nose. Only when she nodded did he turn and leave.
With Hanjie gone, Qin Youxuan suddenly felt lonely.
She glanced around, chose a quiet rest area, and walked over.
She sat down on a bench on the lawn, took a glass of champagne, and gently swirled it.
Resting her chin on her hand, she occasionally glanced in Hanjie’s direction.
Seeing he was still in conversation and occasionally checking in on her, Youxuan felt even less inclined to move.
She took a sip of her champagne and glanced toward the entrance.
Jiang Jinchen had already taken the invitation, but he had not yet arrived with Ning Yanan.
