Yao immediately stepped in front of Qin Youxuan, scrutinizing him defensively.
“Yao, step aside. There are so many people watching, there’s no way a man as dignified as Mr. Ye would hit a weak woman like me.” Qin Youxuan stepped out from behind Yao, her defiant cat-like eyes fixed on Ye Zhanxing.
Their gazes clashed, and Ye Zhanxing squinted as he met her clear eyes.
“With me here, no one dares to harm you!”
A deep voice came from outside the dining hall, and Qin Youxuan raised her head abruptly.
Dressed in a black suit, Dan Hanjie’s strong physique commanded an imposing presence as he walked in. His enchanting eyes scanned everyone in the room. His piercing gaze brought an infinite pressure.
“How did you come here?” Qin Youxuan took a step towards him, shrunk her head, and bit her lip.
At the sight of Dan Hanjie, all the memories that she had struggled to forget came flooding back into her mind.

“I wonder what my wife has done to warrant Mr. Ye’s mobilization.” Dan Hanjie snaked an arm around Qin Youxuan’s shoulder and turned his head to look at Ye Zhanxing.
His gaze swept over Ye Mingmei’s tear-streaked face, and he scrunched his brows in disgust.
A single glance was all it took to identify the instigator of this farce.
“Jie, don’t blame my dad. It was Qin Youxuan who bumped into me first without apologizing, then she pushed me into the door, look at my swollen forehead…” Ye Mingmei squeezed out a pitiful expression upon seeing Dan Hanjie.
The tears that had stopped, fell once more, she looked truly pitiful.
She was targeting Qin Youxuan because of this man in front of her, she couldn’t let Dan Hanjie believe it’s her fault.
Ye Mingmei quickly grabbed Ye Zhanxing’s arm and choked back tears, “Dad, let’s forget it. Miss Qin probably didn’t mean it, I can just apply some ointment when I get home.”
Upon hearing her words, Dan Hanjie’s expression remained neutral, inscrutable.
Qin Youxuan, on the other hand, her eyes glinted sharply, shooting straight at her.
She said ‘just apply some ointment when I get home’, if she really felt that way, she wouldn’t have made such a big fuss.
“Mr. Ye, what do you think?”
Dan Hanjie took hold of Qin Youxuan’s small hand, pulling her to his side, he affectionately rubbed her head.
Qin Youxuan instantly understood his intention and gently shook her head.
She had not been taken advantage of.

Ye Zhanxing watched the intimate interaction between the two, then looked at Ye Mingmei beside him with her tears flowing down. His old eyes narrowed,”There are so many witnesses today, if someone is in the wrong, they should naturally apologize.”
If his daughter was bullied in front of him and the news got out, not only would outsiders laugh at Ye Mingmei, even the Ye family would become a joke.
Failing to handle even a junior, where would his face be?
“Whether it’s wrong or not isn’t for Sir Ye alone to decide. Since there’s surveillance in the dining hall, why not pull it up and let everyone judge.” Dan Hanjie’s words were indifferent and casual yet impossible to ignore.
