“I only have this demand. If you don’t agree, then we have nothing to discuss.” Ye Zhanxing said firmly.
“Mr. Ye, you’re putting me in a tough spot.” Dan Hanjie slightly squinted his evil eyes, reflecting a deep glimmer.
“When you chose to confront the Ye Family, you should have known what kind of man I, Ye Zhanxing, am.” Ye Zhanxing flicked his coat lightly.
“For now, I’m simply asking you to take Mingmei out more often. I’m not forcing you to make any promises. It’s merely a small effort for you. To have you take Miss Qin out is to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings.”
As Dan Hanjie’s eyes flickered, just as he was about to refuse, a voice chimed in from the side, “We agree.”
Dan Hanjie tightened his hold on her hand, his wicked eyes glared at her, filled with displeasure.
Ye Zhanxing made it sound easy, to accompany Ye Mingmei and ensure her safety. Indeed, this wasn’t a big deal.
However, Ye Mingmei was never one to avoid troubles. Tagging along with such a ticking time bomb, who knows what chaos might ensue.
Probably, the first one that Ye Mingmei would target would be Qin Youxuan.
“We agree. It’s just one more person to take along, I’ll be fine,” Qin Youxuan playfully scratched his palm. Seeing Dan Hanjie still frowning, she blinked at him.
Dan Hanjie narrowed his eyes, staring at her for a while before finally speaking softly, “Fine, but I can only promise to do my best to ensure her safety.”
In this world, nothing is 100% guaranteed.
“Your word is quite enough,” Ye Zhanxing was very satisfied with the result of the negotiation, and couldn’t help glancing at Qin Youxuan a couple more times. He seemed curious as to why she would agree.
Qin Youxuan merely shot him a glance, then redirected her gaze.
She had no interest in explaining to Ye Zhanxing.
“In that case, I’ll wait for Mr. Ye’s good news.” Dan Hanjie rose, pulling Qin Youxuan with him. When he saw Ye Zhanxing nod, he finally led her away.
Upon returning to the car, Dan Hanjie turned and pressed Qin Youxuan into the back seat, “Why?”
“It’s just taking someone along. Rejecting Mr. Ye’s help over this would be more loss than gain,” Qin Youxuan looked up into his deep black eyes and answered tentatively.
“You can’t possibly not know what Ye Zhanxing’s intent is. He’s letting Ye Mingmei follow me, aren’t you scared?” Dan Hanjie’s eye shone deeply, his hand on Qin Youxuan’s shoulder tightened.
“Of course I’m scared, so I won’t let her follow along,” said Qin Youxuan, sticking out her tongue and grinning slyly.
Dan Hanjie’s hand paused, then slowly loosened, “What are you thinking?”
“Ye Zhanxing only asked you to agree to take Ye Mingmei along. After you’ve agreed, it’s done. As for whether Ye Mingmei goes with us or not, that’s not for us to decide.”
Qin Youxuan sat up straight, her cat-like eyes shining with a dim light, “I’m not ignorant of what’s on Ye Mingmei’s mind. I won’t give her a chance to get close to you.”
“It seems you’ve got a plan.” Dan Hanjie instructed Yao to drive, then turned to look at her coldly.
“Of course! But I can’t guarantee success now. Let me give it a try. If it truly doesn’t work, we’ll just let her follow. After all, she won’t gain any advantages from being under my control,” Qin Youxuan snuggled into his chest, habitually fiddling with the buttons on his shirt.
“When will we be going to Japan? Will you take me with you? If I can’t go and Ye Mingmei ends up going, I’ll be sick.”
“It’s a matter of a few days, you’re coming with me.”
