Noticing the stiffness in Ning Yanan’s body, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.
Ning Yanan, uncomfortable with public displays of affection, instinctively struggled a couple of times but failed to break free from his embrace.
Despite Jiang Jinchen’s laid-back facade and jocular demeanor, his assertiveness was undeniably chilling.
“I left using a covert route, so my father shouldn’t be able to track me down for a while. Yaya and I will stay in the U.S. for some time, till the current buzz dies down, and then leave the country.”
The first to respond was none other than Ning Yanan.
She broke free from Jiang Jinchen’s arms, sat on the side, and looked up at him in surprise.
“Our whereabouts would be too easy to discover here. Once the storm passes, we will leave. After a year or two, my father will give up looking for me if he can’t find me. We can settle wherever you wish.”
Jiang Jinchen had everything planned out. In a year or two, he might even have a child with Ning Yanan.
Seeing his grandchild’s face, his father, however cold-hearted, wouldn’t dare harm Ning Yanan.
Returning to beg for forgiveness wouldn’t be out of the question then.
Hearing his words, Ning Yanan fell silent for a while, and didn’t continue the conversation.
Her complexion didn’t look good.
“It’s good if you can escape, but I don’t think it will be that simple,” Dan Hanjie thumped his eyebrow, his voice impassive.
“Your father’s desperation to form an alliance with the Jing Family through marriage isn’t just about consolidating his military and political power. Otherwise, the Jing Family wouldn’t have tolerated such a scandal and merely postponed the wedding.”
“That’s why I’m thinking of going to Mexico,” Jiang Jinchen blurted out.

There was no change in her facial expression. She quietly listened, her eyes lost in a trance, seemingly not taking in his words.

“Focus on the baby inside you, and stop meddling in men’s affairs,” Jiang Jinchen glanced at her, aware that he had said too much, and attempted to brazen it out with a flippant retort.
“Without me, do you think you could have left Fico City so easily? Now you find me nosy. You’re really adept at casting aside assistance once it’s no longer useful,” Qin Youxuan flickered her cat-like eyes at Jiang Jinchen.
She picked up a glass of water and took a sip.
“Yes, yes, yes, ma’am. I owe you for this, as well as for taking care of Yaya in the U.S. I’m truly obliged and am prepared to return the favor when needed,” Jiang Jinchen spoke half-jokingly, half-seriously.
“Now that sounds more like it,” Qin Youxuan put down the glass of water and responded with a beaming smile. “As for my request, just take good care of Yaya. Or else, there’ll be hell to pay.”
“Mission guaranteed!” Jiang Jinchen winked flirtatiously at Qin Youxuan. Meanwhile, his arm circled around Ning Yanan’s waist. Noticing her preoccupation, he frowned slightly.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
Ning Yanan looked up at him, their worried eyes meeting. The words at the tip of her tongue suddenly evaporated.
She shook her head slightly. “No, I’m just feeling a bit tired.”
Hearing her complain in her slightly whiny tone, a smirk tugged at the corners of Jiang Jinchen’s lips as he recalled his deeds. There was no way he would let her exhaust herself any further.
