“Miss, Mr. Jie instructed that your shoes are to be flat.” The stylist replied awkwardly.
Gown plus flats were a challenge for the stylist. But Hanjie’s orders were unequivocal and allowed no changes.
“Leave it aside for now. When he comes back, I’ll talk to him myself.” Qin Youxuan said calmly.
She went to the shoe cabinet to pick a pair of low-heeled shoes. The crystals adorned on the shoes made her fingers look exquisite and adorable.
Just as she returned to the room, she heard the butler’s voice, “Miss, Mr. Jie is back.”
“I’ll go down right now.” Qin Youxuan replied with a smile, turning to walk downstairs.
His tall figure was stunningly outlined in a handmade black suit.
His short black hair was windswept, his features were sharp, and his charming face glowed like fine porcelain in the soft light. His alluring eyes seemed to draw people in.
Just standing there without doing anything, it felt like the whole world became his background.
As Qin Youxuan approached him and was about to speak, she saw his eyebrows furrow, “Who let you wear high heels?”
His sharp gaze darted towards the stylist, prepared to lash out.
Qin Youxuan quickly reached out to grab his arm, “It’s my own choice of shoes. It has nothing to do with others. Don’t get angry yet.”
Qin Youxuan waved her hand, signaling the butler to lead the stylist away.
The servants in the living room also swiftly left, leaving only the two of them.

Dan Hanjie didn’t give her a chance to speak. He lifted her onto the couch and reached to remove her shoes.
“Just hear me out…” Qin Youxuan was getting anxious, grabbing onto his arm.
Dan Hanjie removed her shoes in one swift motion, tossing them aside.
He had already taken off her shoes. What was there left to say?

Sighing faintly, she finally voiced her concern, “I don’t insist on wearing heels, but unless there is a particular reason, few would pair flats with an evening gown. Such an apparent hint would lead everyone to guess that I’m pregnant, which may become unsafe.”
Qin Youxuan paused, noting Hanjie’s face lightened up a bit, then she added, “I’m fine. The baby is still small, and the heels aren’t high. It’s not as dangerous as you’re thinking. You’re taking it too seriously.”
Qin Youxuan held his hand, teasing him playfully as she dug her fingers into his palm.
It occurred to her that even though she was the one taking the risk in keeping the baby, it was him who was constantly on edge.
Barefoot, she picked up the discarded shoes from the floor and put them back on.
“Are we ready to leave?” Qin Youxuan stood in front of him, grinning.
