The shadow moved slowly forward, then stopped— because at that moment, he saw a huge figure standing in front of Ulric’s Holy Fire.
“You damned elf mongrel, as expected, you’ve come.”
Duanmu Huai narrowed his eyes, revealing a murderous intent. He gripped his war hammer tightly, coldly gazing at the intruder — a high elf who was wearing magnificent robes of an archmage, wielding a magic wand. This elf was Tagris, commander of the Demon Swordsman Council.
Elissara had informed Duanmu Huai of this intelligence. This very night, Tagris was expected to sneak into the Temple of Ulric and steal the Holy Fire to resurrect his brother, Terion, whilst the United Army was away from Midheim.
Duanmu Huai didn’t question Elissara’s intelligence. The fall of Midheim in the game had always been a mystery for players, they didn’t know why Ulric’s Holy Fire had gone out. But now, Duanmu Huai knew the answer.
These despicable elf mongrels!
Duanmu Huai gripped his war hammer and gave Tagris a cold glare.
“You and your distant kin are alike, contemptible and lowly. Ulric’s Holy Fire is not something your alien race can defile. Now, get out of here or face certain death.”
Duanmu Huai has always disdained these pointy-eared creatures, whether they are elves or the spirit race, they are all the same in his eyes.
Tagris raised his magic wand, his gaze firm.
“I must get Ulric’s Holy Fire for my brother, and you can’t stop me.”
“Then I will kill you first, and then destroy your damn nest completely!”
Duanmu Huai scorned Tagris’s threats. He could destroy Summer Island, so what could stop him from doing the same to Ausuan? No race can get away after threatening humans, none!
“You will soon understand the terror of the Tribunal, you pointy-eared scum. I’ll tear off your head and take it directly to Ausuan. Let them see the sad end of a thief!”
With those words, Duanmu Huai leaped up, roared, and raised his hammer down towards Tagris!
Tagris didn’t speak. He felt Duanmu Huai’s intense murderous intent and a sense of impending death and destruction. Tagris tightened his hold on his wand and drew a sharp blade with his other hand. At the same time, the wind of magic formed around him, turning into a roaring shock wave that surged towards Duanmu Huai.
But it was to no avail. The Black Flame erupted like furious waves, directly tearing through Tagris’s wind of magic and transformed into a giant dragon claw, swooping down at the elf. Seeing this, Tagris’s eyes shifted, he quickly stepped back and raised his magic wand to strike the ground.
Pure magic flames exploded from beneath Tagris’s feet, turning into a flame phoenix. It let out a clear cry, spread its wings, and flew towards its enemy. In the next moment, the magic flame phoenix collided with the black flame beast, Duanmu Huai took a large step forward, his war hammer flying down and smashed the phoenix into pieces. He lifted his head, his helmet’s eyes glowing with bloody light, charging towards Tagris.
“You don’t understand!”
Tagris swung his magic wand again, magical power exploded in his hands, taking form.
“This world needs heroes! The ancient gods cannot defeat the god of darkness!”
“It’s not for you to decide, you pointy-eared mongrel!”
Duanmu Huai was not concerned about Tagris’s magic. He rushed forward, his war hammer smashing down hard on Tagris.
“The fate of humans will be decided by humans themselves, not by disgusting alien races like you!!”
“You are destroying the world!”
“What the hell are you even!!”
Magical energy exploded towards Duanmu Huai. He barreled straight through the force that was capable of toppling a towering tree, rushing straight to Tagris, his war hammer swinging down with power. In a panic, Tagris tried to block the attack with his sword, but in the next moment, the hammer smashed down onto it, shattering it into pieces. A huge shock wave exploded, blasting Tagris and throwing him hard against a wall.
