For Duanmu Huai, the best scenario would naturally be to encounter Mary’s opponent first in the initial battle. He would defeat the opponent, then bring Mary back, and the mission would be over. Back in the Duel Arena, the cheers from the audience were even louder. It was clear they couldn’t wait any longer.
Immediately after, the host started the introduction.

Amidst the audience’s cheering, Weed Head walked into the arena, waving at the spectators with an evil grin across his face. Watching this, Duanmu Huai raised his eyebrows, sneering.
“Coming up next, the man who once single-handedly killed a wild wolf and a starving tiger. A strong contender for the championship of the Fighting God Tournament, please welcome, Pink Bunny!”
As the host announced, the once roaring crowd fell eerily silent. Many spectators seemingly began to second-guess their hearing. However, Duanmu Huai, indifferent to the silence, walked onto the duel stage to face Weed Head who had a complex expression on his face.
“…is this your name?”
“What do you think? Pretty cool, right?”
Duanmu Huai wasn’t bothered in the least. He even appeared to be intrigued by Weed Head’s reaction. Why else would he have chosen such a name?
Weed Head’s complexion went serious as he stared down at Duanmu Huai with clenched fists.
“Brace yourself for despair.”
Duanmu Huai also clenched his fists, glaring at Weed Head.
“Soon you’ll experience the humiliation and fear of being defeated by Pink Bunny!”
Weed Head didn’t say a word, just clenching his fists and staring fiercely at Duanmu Huai.
I absolutely cannot lose!
“ROUND ONE! READY—— GO!”
Following the referee’s command, Weed Head, roaring in fury, tightened his fists and swung violently at Duanmu Huai. A gust of wind accompanied the punch, blowing across the entire duel ring and headed straight for Duanmu Huai’s chest.
Impressive, this contender does have some skills.
Witnessing the attack, Duanmu Huai’s interest was piqued. He had originally assumed that everyone participating in the Fighting God Championship was mediocre at best. But, it seemed, that wasn’t the case. The force behind Weed Head’s punch was comparable to Sakazaki Ryo’s Haō Shōkō Ken, which implies that he could have also been qualified for the Duel Championship.
But he chose the Fighting God Championship instead…
With these thoughts flashing in Duanmu Huai’s mind, he glared at Weed Head before letting out a powerful yell.
Accompanied by Duanmu Huai’s roar, Weed Head’s gust of wind exploded before his face. Seeing this, the audience exploded in cheers, and the host excitedly continued with his commentary.
“What have we just witnessed, ladies and gentlemen?! Faced with MR.BIG Evil Officer’s attack, Pink Bunny countered it merely with a powerful roar and shattered his opponent’s fist wind! This is absolutely astounding! Pink Bunny, who dazzled us during the opening ceremony, indeed possesses unparalleled strength. All contenders should be warned; this man quite possibly could be the strongest adversary you’ll face in a duel!”
Weed Head clearly wasn’t in the mood for the host’s commentary. He recognized Duanmu Huai’s formidable strength and tensed up. He clenched his fists and began circling Duanmu Huai, who stood in the middle of the arena without moving a muscle. His indifference was palpable, as if no attack from any direction could threaten him.
Unable to bear it any longer, Weed Head let out a furious howl. He leaped forward, his fist shot forward like a bullet aimed at Duanmu Huai. But Duanmu Huai didn’t dodge. He didn’t even budge, letting Weed Head’s punch hit him square in the back!
His punch, delivered with all his might, sent shockwaves through the arena, stirring up dust. But Duanmu Huai still stood there, immobile, like a statue.
Imediately after, Weed Head felt a sense of dread. His punch felt as though it had hit a heavy rubber tire, not human flesh. An icy chill ran down his spine. But, it was too late.
