I was practicing with the Royal Guards who would participate in the competition at the Rogard Empire training ground.
There were two events in the festival, and the members of the First Order of Royal Guards of the Rogard Empire were going to participate in the Magic Festival, also known as the “Battle Festa”.
All of them were wearing special protective gear that was manufactured just in time for the event, and although they were dripping with sweat and exhausted, they had good expressions of satisfaction on their faces.
It was their first competition, so they may still have some things to work on, but… they practiced hard and did an impressive job, even though they didn’t have a lot of time on their hands and were busy working with various other things.
“Yes…for now, I guess you could say we’re finished. I think we did what we could do.” (Helger)
Helger Landros, Deputy Commander of the First Order of Royal Guards, who had worked with me on various tasks, and with whom communication had become easier, also nodded his head in satisfaction, wiping away his sweat.
“In such a short period of time, they have become elite, as expected. That’s quite a feat. Everyone must be tired after working all day.” (Yuki)
“I don’t think I could be compared to anyone else, you know. I can keep moving for three days straight without sleep if I want to.” (Yuki)
I could do it, but not that I would do it. After all, it would be such a dull thing to do.
Layla and Nell, who were helping us, noticed that we were done practicing and called out to us.
“It’s almost time, everyone!” (Layla)
“Onii-san, what are your thoughts on delaying the preparation of the meal?” (Nell)
“Whoa, okay. No, just go ahead and get ready like normal. –You guys, we’re going to cut this off around here and have dinner as planned!” (Yuki)
The Royal Guards cheered wildly.
Soon enough, we stopped our practice and went to work with other things after cleaning up and other preparations.
Knights helped us a lot in recent issues. So, as a way of showing our gratitude, we decided to invite their families over to Rogard Empire palace and have dinner with them.
It was a sort of rally to prepare for the upcoming Magic Festival.
The wives and other family members of the Royal Guards had come to help prepare the meals as well, and they had been chatting with Nell and Layla until a few minutes ago.
I have seen them enjoying themselves quite a bit, but this was probably also a result of Layla and Nell handling the situation in a very professional manner.
They have the status of being the Emperor’s wives, but they were both very amiable and used to dealing with this kind of situation.
In comparison, Lefi and Lyuu… well, Lefi could do this surprisingly well, but Lyuu would probably be too nervous and make some mistakes.
No, she was actually a young lady, right? I wonder how she’ll do.
“Both of them are the wives of His Majesty, aren’t they? And the human lady over there is a hero of the great Allysia Kingdom… oh my, I smell romance!” (Helger)

It had been some time since I’ve had this kind of reaction.
