I was relaxing at the inn with Lefi and Sakuya.
We looked at the sleeping Sakuya and lay down next to him.
We weren’t taking a nap, but our heads were resting on the tatami mats.
I looked at my child and wife.
Sakuya was sleeping peacefully and cutely, and Lefi was gently stroking his head.
Although Sakuya wasn’t as big as Setsu, who had grown so quickly, Sakuya was also growing rapidly and the day when he would be able to crawl like Riou would be coming soon.
The familiar scent of my wife.
I touched Lefi and hugged her tightly, but when I went closer…
“It’s hot, Yuki.” (Lefi)
“I know, but, are you complaining?” (Yuki)
At times , although she would say mean things to me, she never asked me to leave. What a sweet girl…
“What a spoiled husband. If this child grows up and sees us in such a lovey-dovey way, he’ll be disappointed.” (Lefi)
“Yeah, I wanted to teach my son that biologically, men can’t resist against women, and that they would end up getting dominated by their wives.” (Yuki)
Men tended to be showy in front of the woman they loved, as well as act childish, and become lovey-dovey. That was just how they were.
“You don’t have to teach him. If he is living in this house, he’ll know all too well.” (Lefi)
“Haha, well, that’s true. In that case, don’t worry about it, I’ll just indulge in your kindness!” (Yuki)
“Oh, my poor son. Is there really a place where you can rest your mind?” (Lefi)
“I feel like he might run away to the place where our pets stay. They’re really attached to Sakuya as well after all.” (Yuki)
Our pets were attached to both Riou and Sakuya, but especially to Sakuya, probably because of his title of “King of Monsters,” and they seemed to be looking forward to the day they could serve him.
If Riou was a friend, then Sakuya was like a master. When it came to Setsu, the pets didn’t seem to be bothered about her position in the current hierarchy at all.
You guys were supposed to be my pets… Well, it was fine if they ended up serving my son.
By the way, unlike Sakuya who was not afraid at all, Riou had keen senses and was a bit of a scaredy-cat, but she didn’t get scared even when she saw the rather terrifying Orochi. She actually was happy to see him, so she probably realized that they were our pets.
By the way, Seimi was someone that both Riou and Sakuya loved and got very excited when she was around. Apparently, the babies loved the soft, bouncy movements of the water spirit.
“Kaka, that’s true. Rir and the others seem to be looking forward to the day they can put our son on their backs. They’re just as excited as you, and it seems like they’re looking forward to seeing him grow up.” (Lefi)
“Yeah. He’s really pumped. As if wanting to show his loyalty.” (Yuki)
“I always wonder why he’s so loyal to a fool like you.” (Lefi)
“What are you talking about? There aren’t many men worth supporting like me, are there?” (Yuki)
“That’s right, I can’t take my eyes off you as if I were looking after a child.” (Lefi)
“Can’t take your eyes off me? That means you’re in love, right?” (Yuki)
“We’re already married, so it’s no big deal.” (Lefi)
“I don’t know what’s no big deal, but I see. So Lefi’s love for me is maxed out.” (Yuki)
“Stop playing around.” (Lefi)
“You’re not denying it, are you?” (Yuki)
She smacked me on the forehead.
But we were laughing.
