A Farmer's Journey To Immortality Chapter 210

Emerald Cove. Dadangar.

The sun had barely risen, casting a gentle light over the lush fields and dense forests surrounding Shamrock Peak.

Farmers and low-level Spirit cultivators were already hard at work, tending to their crops and honing their skills.

Lately, however, a new phenomenon had begun to draw their attention and unsettle their routine.

A thick, gray fog had started to envelop Shamrock Peak, forming a dome-shaped barrier around the entire mountain. Read complete version only at NoveI(F)ire.net

The mist was dense, almost tangible, and seemed to pulse with an eerie, inexplicable energy.

This was the primary barrier of the Devil's Den, a natural formation created by the demon tree Aksai had cultivated. It was enough to intimidate anyone even when Aksai had not activated the isolation barrier.

Even without his use of the Devil's Den, the gray fog was enough to turn any mortal nervous.

At the base of the mountain, a group of mortal farmers gathered, looking up in awe and trepidation.

"Look at that fog," one of them said, shading his eyes with his hand. "I've never seen anything like it."

"Yeah," another agreed, his voice tinged with unease. "It feels... strange. Like there's something in it that is constantly eyeing us."

Nearby, a young Spirit cultivator paused in his training to gaze at the gray dome. He could sense the mysterious energy radiating from it, an energy that seemed both powerful and unsettling.

"It's the lord's doing," an older cultivator muttered, nodding sagely.

"Lord Aksai Everwood must be setting up some sort of Array Formation. He's always been vigilant, protecting us from threats."

"That makes sense," the younger one replied, though his eyes remained fixed on the fog. "Still, it's unlike anything I've felt before. It's almost as if the fog itself is alive."

Another group of cultivators huddled near a well exchanged nervous glances. "Do you think it's safe to continue working here?" one of them asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"No one dares to question Lord Aksai," another responded firmly. "If he hasn't given us any orders to leave, then we stay and do our work."

While some praised Aksai for his foresight and protective measures, others couldn't shake their apprehension.

The gray fog was an enigma, a silent, ever-present reminder of the power and mystery that surrounded their lord. Yet, they knew better than to question him directly. Aksai Everwood was a figure shrouded in both respect and fear, his intentions known only to himself.

As the day wore on, the fog remained, a constant companion to the inhabitants near Shamrock Peak. Conversations about it could be heard in the fields, in the marketplace, and even within the walls of the small, humble homes scattered around the mountain.

The farmers and cultivators continued their tasks, but their eyes often drifted toward the peak, where the fog swirled and pulsed.

Inside his palace, Aksai remained secluded, deep in his own preparations and plans. His subordinates and the spirit farmers he employed knew nothing of the demon tree or the true nature of the fog.

All they could do was speculate and continue their work, trusting in their lord's vigilance and hoping that the gray shroud was indeed a protective measure, not a harbinger of something more sinister.

"Haah! I, Aksai Everwood, laid-back life. Hehehe."

Aksai emerged from his month-long seclusion, stepping out of the dimly lit chamber with an aura that seemed both rejuvenated and even more enigmatic.

His maids, Violet and Zara, stood waiting for him just outside the door, their eyes widening as they took in their lord's appearance.

"Welcome back, my lord," Violet said, bowing gracefully. "You seem... different. Younger, perhaps."

Zara nodded in agreement, her gaze filled with admiration. "Indeed, my lord. It's as if the time spent in seclusion has only enhanced your presence."

"Hehe. I just want to cultivate and work on improving myself in peace."

Aksai acknowledged their greetings with a slight nod and made his way to the throne-like chair that dominated the room. As he settled into it, the weight of his responsibilities returned, though his expression remained calm and composed.

"Give me the updates related to the entire island while you tend to me," Aksai instructed, his voice carrying a quiet authority.

Violet and Zara moved to his side, each taking a position to begin their duties. Violet spoke first, her tone measured and respectful.

"My lord, there has been some unrest among the mortals and low-level Spirit cultivators regarding the gray fog that now surrounds Shamrock Peak."

Aksai's lips curved into a light smile.

"Hehe. This was expected. But fear not.

Inform everyone that the gray fog is indeed part of the Array Formation I am setting up around Shamrock Peak. I am gradually working on establishing a defensive-type formation for the entire Emerald Cove island.

Assure them that the gray fog will not harm anyone and that they should remain calm. It has only been introduced as a safety measure and nothing else."

Violet and Zara exchanged relieved glances before nodding in unison. "We will see to it that everyone is reassured, my lord," Zara said.

Violet then continued, "My lord, island owner Nuya returned to Emerald Cove a few days ago and has been asking to meet with you. But you were in secluded cultivation practices and had asked us not to disturb you. So we could only send her away after serving her for a while.

Additionally, we have news regarding Aram Talak, one of the island owners who went with Nuya to explore the inheritance cave of a Core Formation Lord. He… well.. he has not returned."

Aksai's expression grew serious, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Aram Talak has not returned?" he repeated, his mind racing through the possible implications.

"Yes, my lord," Zara confirmed. "Island owner Nuya seems quite anxious about the matter."

Without wasting another moment, Aksai summoned his Lian Flying Sword.

The sleek, mystical weapon appeared with a whisper of energy, and he stepped onto it with practiced ease. He turned to his maids, his expression resolute. "I must speak with Nuya immediately. Keep things in order here."

He used the palace's windows as an exit, soaring through the skies towards Nuya's palace.

The wind whipped around him as he navigated the familiar path, his thoughts focused on the news he had just received.
