107 Flirting
“Here…” Xue Na lowered her head and muttered to herself.
Yin Tao lowered her body slightly and heard the strange words coming from Xue Na’s mouth.
“With me. With me. We’re good friends.”
Feng Jing also heard what Xue Na said clearly. Her expression became much more complicated. She turned to the nurse beside her and asked, “Does her husband come every week?”
The nurse nodded and replied, “Yes, he’s almost never absent. It’s almost the weekend. If nothing goes wrong, he’ll be here tomorrow and the day after.”
Feng Jing had a plan in mind. Seeing that Xue Na had her head lowered, he couldn’t get any more useful information.
“Xiaoyin, let’s go back first.” Feng Jing gestured for Yin Tao to leave with him. Unexpectedly, Xue Na, who was lying on the bed, suddenly screamed.
“Ah!” Xue Na grabbed her hair and looked at Yin Tao viciously.
Feng Jing was worried that Yin Tao would be hurt, so he stood between Xue Na and Yin Tao.
The nurse called the doctor over. After Yin Tao was out of her sight, Xue Na’s mood slowly returned to normal.
Feng Jing pulled Yin Tao out of the ward. After confirming that she was not frightened, he asked, “Do you think Xue Na’s reaction is strange?”
When Yin Tao thought of the way Xue Na looked at her, she still felt a lingering fear. If not for the fact that she didn’t know Xue Na before, Yin Tao would have thought that her madness had something to do with her.
“It’s very strange. I thought that Xue Na hated women, but she didn’t have any hostility towards the nurse just now.”
“That’s right. From what the nurse said just now, Xue Na has been stable and hasn’t had many episodes.” Feng Jing looked at the doctors and nurses coming and going in the hospital hall and said to Yin Tao, “There are many women here. DNA isn’t the key factor that caused Xue Na’s illness.”
Yin Tao helplessly pursed her lips as she looked at her own face in the glass of the hospital’s entrance. “Then what’s wrong with me? How could I scare a patient to such an extent?”
Feng Jing turned around and placed his hands on Yin Tao’s shoulders, allowing her to walk closer to the glass door so that she could see herself more clearly.
“Because you’re pretty…” Feng Jing’s voice wasn’t loud, but the two of them were so close that Yin Tao could clearly hear every word Feng Jing said.
Yin Tao’s heart suddenly raced as she looked at the two figures leaning against each other on the glass.
What did Feng Jing mean? Was he praising her for being pretty? Or was he flirting with her?
Although the shadow on the glass wasn’t clear, Yin Tao could still feel her cheeks turning red.
“You’re the same as Song Yi. You’re the type that people find pretty at first sight.”
Before Yin Tao could react, Feng Jing added.
“Song Yi?” Yin Tao realized that there was a hidden meaning in Feng Jing’s words. She calmed down and turned around to look into Feng Jing’s eyes. When she saw that he still had a serious expression on his face, Yin Tao finally understood that she had misunderstood him. Feng Jing’s thoughts were still on the case.
Yin Tao bit her lips awkwardly and asked, “You mean that Xue Na hates beautiful people?”
Feng Jing nodded and walked out of the hospital slowly. “When we mentioned Song Yi’s name in Ward 217 just now, although Xue Na was trying her best to smile, she was trying to suppress some emotions in her eyes. It was as if she was restraining the jealousy and hatred in her heart, just like the way she looked at you just now.”
Yin Tao also recalled Xue Na’s behavior and felt that Feng Jing’s analysis was reasonable.
“Don’t forget that Zhang Rui’s statement previously mentioned that Xue Na is a very scheming person. Even if she’s crazy, she might not expose her emotions directly. Therefore, in her heart, Song Yi might not be her good friend.”
What Feng Jing said inspired Yin Tao. “Moreover, I remember that when you asked Zhang Rui to guess who was the most likely person to kill Song Yi in the interrogation room, the first person she thought of was actually Xue Na.”
Yin Tao could tell that although Zhang Rui was a straightforward person and was even a little arrogant and willful, she didn’t seem like someone who would deliberately lie. So there would have been some basis for her suspicions toward Xue Na.
“Therefore, we have to start investigating Xue Na.” Feng Jing felt that there was some progress in the case. However, he would not jump to conclusions before obtaining concrete evidence.
