Chapter 18: The Necklace
It had only been a few hours since he came here and since he had not yet properly seen his newly given body, he did not really know.
Still, it seemed that he was considered fairly attractive.
Those two had happily designed his new body, so he had left it alone, but that apparently came back to bite him.
Even so, since he had not personally checked, it did not feel real to him.
And even if he did see it, his image from his previous life would probably get in the way, and it would take time to get used to it.

Realizing that saying anything more would be pointless, he gave up and thanked him.
The man smiled brightly, looking very pleased.
Of course, he had only given up on arguing about appearance, he had not given up on escaping from the man.
After going back and forth with Leander, they decided, for now, to ask him to guide them to the town.
As for how to address him, Leander said that if he did not call him by name, he would carry him there instead.
With no choice, he agreed.
And since it would be strange not to give his name if he was allowing him to use it, he reluctantly allowed Leander to call him by it.
In his previous life, people often said he was weak to pressure.
But more than that, he was the type who thought, this is too much trouble, and simply let things slide.

"I see. I’m glad you seem happy."

Since then, Leander had been happily calling his name nonstop for no real reason, whispering "I like you" and "I love you" every chance he got.
It was annoying.
Honestly, it was irritating.
This had to be something like a chick imprinting on the first thing it sees.
Qiong Xing had simply appeared at just the right time when Leander was looking for someone.
Yes, from Qiong Xing’s point of view, it was just bad luck that all the conditions lined up.
That was all.
He did not hate being liked and in terms of romantic interest, Qiong Xing was also attracted to men.
Still, even he had preferences.

But in this world, he thought he might try a little harder.

Leander suddenly said that and what he held out in front of him looked like a silver necklace.
"It’s the only thing left from my parent. I don’t know whether it was left behind because I was abandoned, or because they wanted to save me. But I believe there was a reason it was left behind. Until now, I didn’t have the resolve to wear it. But now, I want you to wear it. ...Is that no good?"
