A Saiyan's Journey Chapter 237

Zuke didn't waste any words with Diavolo and knocked him out cold.

To prevent Diavolo from secretly waking up and using his Stand ability to escape, Zuke implanted a "Black Bird·Lover" into Diavolo's brain.

Since "Black Bird·Lover" lurks within the brain, if Diavolo were to wake up, even if he pretended to remain unconscious, Zuke would sense it immediately.

Unless Diavolo could somehow think without any brain activity... there was no way he could deceive Zuke.

"After knocking him out, King Crimson disappeared as well... Whatever, I'll just wake him up later and have him summon King Crimson so I can devour it."

After dealing with Diavolo, Zuke glanced at the spot where King Crimson had been—since the Stand user was unconscious, the Stand naturally vanished.

Zuke was quite interested in King Crimson's ability, as it included the power to "predict the future."

Even if the predicted future only lasted a few dozen seconds and couldn't significantly influence long-term decisions, in combat, such an ability would be incredibly useful.

Even someone like Frieza, if his future actions were predicted, would be left helpless. Such a powerful combat ability was not something Zuke would let slip by.

Of course, even with the ability to predict the future, if the gap in strength was too vast, it wouldn't make much difference—just like Diavolo, who, despite predicting Zuke's attack, couldn't dodge it.

As for why Zuke didn't kill Diavolo immediately... the reason was simple: he needed to use Diavolo's face to lure out Polnareff.

In the storyline of *JOJO* Part 5, what Zuke was most interested in was the "Arrow" that could evolve a Stand into a Requiem, and that "Arrow" was in Polnareff's possession.

Once he got his hands on the "Arrow," he could deal with Diavolo later.

Otherwise, if Diavolo were killed and the main quest ended before Zuke could obtain the "Arrow," he would be forced to leave the mission world empty-handed, which would be a huge loss. The rıghtful source is 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢•𝓷𝓮𝓽

The fact that Diavolo could live a little longer was all thanks to the existence of the "Arrow."

Jean Pierre Polnareff, in the storyline of *JOJO* Part 3, was one of the members who traveled to Egypt with Jotaro Kujo and others to defeat Dio.

Along the way, they faced countless Stand users sent by Dio, and after enduring countless hardships, they finally reached Cairo, Egypt, only to discover... that Dio had already been killed.

Although this shocked them, Dio's death was ultimately a good thing for them.

Thus, their mission shifted from "killing Dio" to "cleaning up Dio's remaining forces."

After Dio's death, many people took his legacy and scattered across the world, causing chaos. For example, the Higashikata brothers stole Dio's "Arrow" and took it to Morioh.

While investigating, Polnareff noticed that drug trafficking in Europe had surged inexplicably, seemingly driven by an organization behind the scenes.

Not wanting to overlook any clues, Polnareff infiltrated Italy to investigate, eventually uncovering the "Passione" organization and catching Diavolo's attention.

Diavolo used the power of "Passione" to cut off Polnareff's means of external communication and killed him on a cliff—or so it was supposed to happen.

But Polnareff didn't die. He survived, albeit at great cost, losing an eye and a leg, leaving him disabled and confined to a wheelchair. Still, he was alive.

Not only that, during his seclusion, he accidentally discovered the secret of the "Arrow" he had obtained during his investigation: this "Arrow" could further evolve a Stand.

This reignited his hope of confronting Diavolo, but his disabled body was no longer capable of taking on such a task. So, he waited for someone else who was also investigating Diavolo's true identity.

In the original story, that someone was Bucciarati's team, who had rebelled against Diavolo. They painstakingly obtained a photo of Diavolo's face, searched for it online, and were eventually discovered by Polnareff.

But Zuke didn't need to go through all that trouble. Diavolo was lying at his feet right now, and he could take as many photos of him as he wanted.

After searching the room at the top of the clock tower, Zuke quickly found a laptop in the corner.

Although the *JOJO* world was still in 2001 and laptops weren't yet widespread, as the boss of Italy's largest mafia organization, Diavolo naturally had access to such devices.

In the original story, Diavolo used a laptop to view photos and contact Bucciarati, so Zuke knew there had to be one here. Sure enough, he found it.

Zuke grabbed Diavolo by the neck, pulled his face in front of the laptop's screen, and used the built-in camera to take a few photos of him.

He then uploaded these photos to the internet for a search—and waited for Polnareff to find them.

Since Polnareff's means of communication had been cut off by "Passione," he couldn't actively contact the outside world. He could only passively wait for someone to search for "Diavolo's appearance" to establish a connection.

Sure enough, just minutes after Zuke uploaded Diavolo's photos to the internet, a window suddenly popped up on the screen.

Then, a clearly processed voice came from the laptop—it was unmistakably Polnareff's voice:

"That's Diavolo's face... Are you investigating information about Diavolo!?"

Although the voice was processed, Zuke could hear the excitement in his tone, as if he hadn't expected someone to actually search for Diavolo's appearance.

Now that contact had been established, Zuke saw no need to beat around the bush. He spoke directly to Polnareff through the laptop:

"Wrong. It's not just about investigating Diavolo... Diavolo is in my hands right now."

Zuke's words left Polnareff momentarily speechless—indeed, in the photos Zuke had uploaded, Diavolo was clearly unconscious.

At first, Polnareff had thought someone had managed to sneak a photo of Diavolo while he was sleeping. But now it was clear that Diavolo had been knocked out and had his head held up for the photo.

The initial excitement of someone searching for Diavolo's appearance quickly faded, and Polnareff regained his composure:

"Who are you? You actually managed to defeat Diavolo... And you used his face to lure me out. Do you know about me?"
