A Saiyan's Journey Chapter 241

The two Requiem Stands that appeared in the original work—Golden Experience Requiem and Silver Chariot Requiem—both seemed to emerge from their original Stands.

Silver Chariot's body melted like liquid, and from within it stepped forth Silver Chariot Requiem.

Golden Experience's body shattered like a cracked shell, akin to molting, and from its discarded exterior emerged Golden Experience Requiem.

This time, Zuke's Blackbird experienced a similar transformation.

Amidst a burst of light, Blackbird's dark body began to dissolve like smoke, gradually dispersing into the surroundings.

From the dissipating black smoke appeared Zuke's new Stand—Blackbird Requiem!

"It seems that including my Stand, all the Requiems start with a color… Could it be that to evolve into a Requiem, the Stand must have a color in its name?"

As Zuke watched the new Stand, Blackbird Requiem, emerge from the black smoke, a random thought flashed through his mind. Orıginal content can be found at novel•fire.net

However, this thought vanished as quickly as it appeared. Soon, Zuke's full attention was focused on his brand-new Stand.

Blackbird Requiem's body remained black, but its appearance had undergone significant changes.

Where there were once no adornments, it now had robe-like attire. The bird-feather epaulets on its shoulders were gone, replaced by a pair of black wings that resembled those of a bird sprouting from its back.

On its chest, a protruding shape resembling an Arrow was strikingly visible—the Arrow had completely fused with Blackbird Requiem.

Of course, the changes in appearance were not the most important thing. What Zuke cared about was Blackbird Requiem's new ability.

A Requiem Stand's ability has little to do with its original Stand. It's not an enhancement of the previous powers but an entirely new ability, and Blackbird Requiem followed this rule.

"Seems like you can perfectly control your Stand," Polnareff remarked, looking at Blackbird Requiem standing beside Zuke.

Polnareff's health had deteriorated significantly, and he could sense that he could no longer control Silver Chariot Requiem. However, Zuke's Blackbird Requiem was clearly under full control.

"So, have you figured out your Stand's new ability?"

"Yes, it's quite an impressive power."

A faint smile appeared on Zuke's face—Blackbird Requiem still lacked self-awareness, but its ability was already clear to him.

Simply put, Blackbird Requiem's ability was to "fix the result."

Normally, to achieve a particular result, one must pay a certain price and go through a specific process.

For instance, if Zuke wanted the result of defeating Frieza, he would need to spend time as the price, undergoing training and battles—the process—to achieve that result.

But with Blackbird Requiem's ability, Zuke could directly fix the result of "defeating Frieza" by paying a certain cost.

Once the result of "defeating Frieza" was fixed, no matter what Zuke did, Frieza would inevitably be defeated. The process and price no longer mattered.

Of course, the more difficult the result, the higher the cost.

At this thought, Zuke turned his gaze to Polnareff.

Polnareff was taken aback when he noticed Zuke staring at him with an odd expression, not understanding why.

However, in the next moment, he felt his wheelchair jolt violently, as if a component inside had suddenly broken. The entire wheelchair collapsed beneath him, and before he could react, he fell straight to the floor.

"Hiss... What happened? Why did the wheelchair suddenly break?"

Watching Polnareff fall to the ground, Zuke's eyes gleamed—that had been his test of Blackbird Requiem's power.

He had fixed the result of "Polnareff's wheelchair breaking," and the price he paid was merely a trace of insignificant energy.

This was, to some extent, the realization of his will. Though it required some cost, the easier the task, the less energy it consumed.

Given Zuke's current combat strength, there were countless things he could accomplish. For most results, he would only need to pay a minimal price.

"So... what about repairing Polnareff's wheelchair?"

With that thought, Zuke looked at the broken wheelchair again, contemplating as he activated Blackbird Requiem's ability once more.

In the next instant, it was as if time had reversed. The wheelchair parts trembled violently and, to Polnareff's astonishment, began reassembling themselves into a fully intact wheelchair.

Even Polnareff's body was gently lifted by the wheelchair parts, and by the time the chair had fully repaired itself, he was already seated once more.

At this point, if Polnareff still didn't realize why the wheelchair had suddenly broken, he'd seem a bit foolish.

"This... is this your Stand's ability?"

"That's right. Blackbird Requiem's ability allows me to fix the result I want to see by paying a certain price, turning it into an inevitable event."

Zuke made no effort to hide it. After all, barring any unexpected circumstances, this would be the last time he saw Polnareff.

Polnareff was, after all, a righteous character, and since they wouldn't meet again, there was no harm in explaining.

"I see... What a terrifying ability..."

Polnareff was astonished. Although he had expected a Stand to become more powerful after evolving, he hadn't imagined it could become this overwhelming.

This was essentially manipulating causality, wasn't it?

Actually, Polnareff had never encountered his own Silver Chariot Requiem—its ability to manipulate souls and evolve living beings was equally extraordinary. The Golden Experience Requiem in the original work could revert all actions and wills to zero, preventing any result from being achieved, which was also a form of causality control.

One could only say that Requiem Stands indeed possessed overwhelmingly powerful abilities.

However, Blackbird Requiem's ability to fix results did have limitations. The more impossible the task for Zuke to achieve on his own, the higher the cost.

For instance, when Zuke broke Polnareff's wheelchair, he expended only 1 point of energy. But repairing the wheelchair consumed nearly 10 points.

Though that amount of energy was still negligible to Zuke, it represented a tenfold increase in cost.

Zuke speculated that this was largely because he had no knowledge of how to repair a wheelchair, thus requiring more payment to compensate for the process and effort involved.

But that wasn't an issue. If paying some price allowed Zuke to accomplish things he couldn't otherwise do, it was a worthwhile trade.

Moreover, the price didn't have to be limited to Zuke's energy—he could pay with other forms of cost, even plundering from others if needed.

…In a way, it did resemble the wishes granted by the Cereal Dragon Balls.
