Bai Ruozhu’s face flushed again. She turned away and complained, "You have the nerve to ask? This is daylight debauchery!"
Jiang Yichun joked, reaching out to touch her chin, turning her face back towards him. With a naughty smile on his lips, he said, "You were right there with me, committing daylight debauchery. We’ve already done it, so why not continue?"
His final words were not of questioning, but of assertion. With that, he leaned into Bai Ruozhu for a kiss, silencing her attempted refusal.
Remembering the pleasant sensation from earlier, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t resist wrapping her arms around his neck in response.
As he kissed her, she squinted her eyes and sneaked glances at him. She used to be too shy to look closely, but now that she did, she thought his body was irresistibly attractive, even the muscles on his back.
As the thought struck her, she couldn’t resist swallowing hard, making an audible gulp.
Jiang Yichun chuckled softly, lifting his head to shoot her a captivating gaze. "Are you salivating over me?"
"Yes, do you mind?" Bai Ruozhu didn’t want to be teased all the time, so she decided to tease him back for a change.
"Then you can look at me as much as you want." With that, he suddenly lifted her, sitting up himself, with her sitting astride his lap. Before she had a chance to respond, they were tightly intertwined again...
She found that they were indeed face to face, able to see each other’s expressions even more clearly. For a moment, she felt completely lost in the intoxication...
Much later, the two of them silently nestled against one another on the small couch. It was so small that Bai Ruozhu sat on his lap, with his lips occasionally brushing her hair, dropping delicate kisses.
The moment she recovered, Bai Ruozhu blushed while adjusting her clothes, lowering her head and saying, "I need to go home now. My family must be worried about my grandmother."
Jiang Yichun held her hand, reluctant to let her go, but he knew he couldn’t keep her and worry her family.
He got dressed; Bai Ruozhu glanced at him, discontentedly asking, "Why aren’t you wearing the vest I gave you?"
Jiang Yichun scratched his nose with a sheepish smile, "I’m afraid of wearing it out."
Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes at him, "If you wear it out, I’ll make you a new one. Are you afraid you won’t have enough?"
Jiang Yichun quickly turned to his wardrobe, took out the vest, and wore it over his inner garments before putting on his outer clothing.
Bai Ruozhu nodded in satisfaction, busily straightening her clothes, soon realizing they were all creased from his touch. She trudged, pulling her clothes. Good thing she came by horse carriage, so even if she was questioned at home, she could just say they were wrinkled from cradling Dengdeng in the horse carriage.
However, as soon as she lifted her head, she saw Jiang Yichun’s somewhat evasive gaze. She gasped, remembering seeing her schoolmates sometimes wearing scars of similar ’red strawberries’ on their necks in class.
She shyly touched her neck and glared at him, "What on it?"
Jiang Yichun scratched his nose awkwardly, "I got a little excited..."
Bai Ruozhu’s widened even more, she could only think of how to explain herself if someone saw it.
"Bring me the mirror!" She was a little annoyed and gave his leg a slight kick.
Jiang Yichun exaggeratedly grimaced in pain, even though she hadn’t kicked him hard.
"You can turn your mood around pretty quickly. You were gentle just a moment ago," he muttered, then grabbed a bronze mirror from his wardrobe. He wasn’t one to use mirrors; having a bronze one was already a surprise.
Bai Ruozhu was pretty much jumping up and down with impatience. A bronze mirror couldn’t reflect anything, wasn’t he just trying to annoy her?
"Tell me honestly. Where?" she stared at him, demanding answers.
Jiang Yichun smiled mischievously, leaned in, and kissed her neck, "Here." He then kissed another spot, "And here."
Bai Ruozhu blushed again from his teasing. She pushed him away, gritting her teeth and said, "Quit joking. Do I really have them or not?"
"Yes, why would I lie to you?" He had a sly smile on his face, making it hard for her to believe him.
This was all his fault, Bai Ruozhu thought as she began pacing in distress around the room. "How am I supposed to go home? My family questioning me is one thing, but my grandmother is still around too. If she saw, it’d definitely cause a scene."
Seeing her grumbling and pacing around, Jiang Yichun couldn’t help but smile. She seemed like just an ordinary woman, chattering and complaining, but he found her familiarity reassuring.
He pulled her into his arms, whispering, "Stop pacing, you’re making me dizzy."
Bai Ruozhu pouted and ignored him. He nuzzled the top of her head with his chin and smilingly said, "I can also disguise those marks on your neck. Want me to hide them for you?"
She immediately looked up at him, her gleaming eyes full of hope, her voice was slightly whiny, "You caused this. You ought to be responsible."
Jiang Yichun chuckled softly, leaning his handsome face towards her with a particularly annoying look.
Knowing what was expected, Bai Ruozhu sighed and pecked him on the cheek. She’d just given him a peck because of Dengdeng, wasn’t that enough?
A satisfied grin spread across his face. He turned to his wardrobe and pulled out a box. Inside was a paste-like substance. Bai Ruozhu found all these very intriguing and leaned in to examine it.
He took a bit of the paste, miraculously making it into a thin film.
"Don’t move." He said softly, and gently placed the film on her neck.
By the time he placed the third piece on her, she realized that he’d left three ’strawberries’ on her. He was infuriating!
He observed his handiwork, his eyes filled with concealed affection.
"Your family definitely won’t notice." He said, lifting an eyebrow to Bai Ruozhu, "Am I responsible enough?"
Bai Ruozhu knew he had a point, blushing as she lowered her head to inspect her neck. A shadow fell over her as he leaned closer, enveloping her in the shadow of his profile. His voice resonated from above, "Not just this, I plan to be responsible for you for a lifetime."
