"They seem to be getting along quite well, don’t they?" Sir Kierna’s voice echoed in the pilot room as a chuckle rang out before the reply came.
"Yeah, they really are," it was from none other than a golden-haired lady who looked at the TV-like projection that revealed the students, all currently introducing each other.
Of course, one could hear their words, and it was quite the lovingly chaotic scene.
"They’ll need to get along if they wish to survive in the Ascension Academy," the lady voiced on a more serious and worried note as Sir Kierna brought out a dark grimoire-like book and began reading.
"They don’t realize that yet, which is why they aren’t taking it seriously. But they very well would understand when they get into the Ascension Academy."
"You don’t have to worry about them," Sir Kierna said as the lady looked at the TV and then found herself raising an eyebrow before chuckling.
"And what do you think of the human, Kierna?" she suddenly asked.
"He seems to be getting along quite well with those prideful geniuses," she completed as Sir Kierna raised his head and stared intently at Ryuk on the TV, his pitch-black eyes rotating within his eyeballs.
"Phenomenal," Sir Kierna replied.
"Phenomenal?" the lady, Dora, asked as Sir Kierna resettled his spectacles on his face.
"He truly is a phenomenal genius."
’I have seen how he has risen from his lowest, how he has surpassed every other genius in his class, how hard he has trained every night in the training room and special cultivation. I have always been watching you, Ryuk,’ Sir Kierna thought to himself.
"He is very difficult to find out. But the Ascension Academy will soon find out what his capabilities are," he added.
"Hopefully. I personally like his cuteness. Hehe," Dora said, giggling like a little baby as she looked at Ryuk, who was getting thrown questions left and right, all the geniuses soon forming a circle around him.
It was a miracle how he was able to keep them all at bay.
Sir Kierna watched Dora’s fawning expression as he turned once more to Ryuk, but he didn’t share the same sentiment.
’I can’t see any cuteness in him. All I see is a monster egg slowly hatching…’
A loud exhale rang through the room as Ryuk collapsed onto the bed, heaving a huge sigh of relief.
’I’m finally free…’ he thought to himself as he straightened his back before fully landing on the bed.
The geniuses’ questions had been unending, but he had smartly replied to their inquiries, using all the tactics he knew and not revealing too much.
But to reveal absolutely nothing wouldn’t satisfy the geniuses, so he had to at least give a little bit of explanation that fulfilled their curiosity, even if it didn’t satisfy them completely.
They also had secrets which they were keeping from each other, so they at least understood not to over-question Ryuk or scrutinize his answers. Through that, he had been able to wriggle out a room for himself and land in it.
’Still, I would have to say, the geniuses themselves are not bad. They all possess their own bits of arrogance, but they’re all geniuses in the first place, and that’s a thing I’ve begun noticing about geniuses now.’
’I’ll eventually get used to their arrogance soon. And if that’s taken away, one would find quite the good personalities underneath…’ Ryuk stated to himself before pushing the thought to the back of his mind.

’So… so big?’ he asked in shock as he looked at the book before a grin opened up on his lips as he witnessed an intense chilling cold began climbing up his hands, from the chilling aura surrounding the book.
"Truly, this is the real deal…"
