Abyss Draconis Chapter 430

A groan of pain left Ryuk's lips as his body pummelled to the ground, his eyes flashing as he looked at the floor before him, finding his nose barely an inch from it.

Turning his head, he could see the man holding his clothes, preventing him from completely falling, and watched as the man's eyes also flashed with a bit of perplexion.

He asked as Ryuk placed his hands on the ground, crouching on all fours.

"Tch, I won't be getting used to this anytime soon..." he muttered as he tried to raise himself up.

He made it until he reached a crouching position, both hands resting on his knees as he heaved out loudly.

But then, a brilliant arc of light flashed—and Ryuk felt something extend to him.

It was none other than a blue reclining staff, seemingly made to match the same colour and design of his body.

"The heaviness was part of my hypothesis, and now it seems I was right."

"To counter that, I've made this staff," the man said as he passed him the staff, which he took in his right hand.

His eyes flashed when he exerted strength and watched as his body fully rose up from the ground, albeit his back crouching slightly.

"This... it negates the effect of the heaviness?" he asked, and the man nodded.

"Yes, but it is a helping artifact to assist you in getting used to the weight of the Model."

"Once you're used to it, it will be less effective and will eventually have no more use than an ordinary staff," the man explained before turning to the exit.

Ryuk took a single step forward, only to watch the runes on the ground suddenly dim.

'Why do I feel would have shattered if not for the runes?' he thought but shrugged it foon and soon catching up to the man.

"Come, let me show you around while you use it to get familiar with your body."

"Good suggestion..." Ryuk said as he reached his side, and the door slowly opened.

"Firstly, I'm High Scholar Emeric Von Silver Rune," the man said. Ryuk's eyes pinpointed on the weirdly long name but he replied,

"Quite the short name. That's not common around here, but just exactly how the younglings are reffered..." the man said with laughter as the door opened fully and Ryuk looked at the sight, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Welcome to Royal Home of the Silvery Runes." the man said, and Ryuk looked into the distance.

The world before him was unlike anything he had ever seen.

A wide expanse, pure white in color, with flashing silvery runes across its surface. The buildings curved from both sides to form a central circular open space, and the diameter of this circular space spanned close to 5000 meters.

On the wide expanse were silvery glass floors, undulating with the same silvery runes as the clean white walls.

Walking on these grounds were crowds of white-haired and black-haired people.

All clad in silvery robes—the females among them with trailing robes that brushed the ground beneath them, imbued with the same shining silvery runes—and the males dressed in simple long-sleeved shirts and trousers that reached their ankles, along with simple, white-coloured flip-flops.

The males and females had long snow-white hair or dark hair difference being the males tying up theirs while the females allowed it to spread down, along with the same silvery tattoos running down the sides of their ears and into their clothes.

Ryuk watched them from above, observing both males and females walking around in pairs or alone, their infectious laughter and language echoing lightly.

There was not a single person that could be termed with the word "ugly" among them.

It radiated such an aura of peace and tranquillity that his heart warmed within his chest as he took in the breathtaking scene before him.

But what truly took his breath away were some of these creatures amongst them and in the sky above them.

They looked like Frost Wyverns—except their bodies were more snake-like, with shorter limbs.

At the top were the males among them, flying on their backs, rising into the air before they instantly disappeared into the sky with a speed that was almost too fast for him to observe.

The females, on the other hand, flew on majestic, otherworldly birds that were as pure and radiant as freshly fallen snow.

Their four wings shimmered with an ethereal silver glow, each movement leaving trails of spiraling mist.

They looked like eagles—except about a hundred times bigger, enough to fit two to three of these females on the same bird.

Their cries echoed loudly throughout the place, yet never felt off-putting at all.

"I haven't seen such beauty before. Tranquility, with peace..." Ryuk unconsciously muttered, as the eyes of High Scholar Emeric flashed with a faint bit of pride and a smile appeared on his face.

"All of this is only due to the hard workings of the Royal Family of the Silvery Runes," he said with a smile as both he and Ryuk moved off the balcony and began walking on the silver tiles that extended to the left side.

On their way, they met with both males and females of this race, their heads bowing slightly when they saw High Scholar Emeric—but flashing with surprise when they looked at Ryuk, especially at his robotic, gem-like hands.

Their confusion grew even more when they saw the staff in his grasp.

Their stares weren't exactly welcoming.

"Seems like it's not every day you get guests, huh?" Ryuk said to High Scholar Emeric, who laughed at his humour.

"To be honest, it isn't."

"And most importantly, most of them were very against the idea of bringing an object from the Sewage Gate into the royal home of the Silvery Runes."

"But then, nothing much can be done when the King allowed it to fulfil my request."

"You might have gone through some major upgrades and become quite unrecognisable form how you were brought in but be well aware—most of them will still see you as you were brought in a half-destroyed garbage robot," he said, as if warning Ryuk of the future.

"Seems like it won't really be much of heartwarming days ahead..."
