Abyss Draconis Chapter 527

Adventurer’s points — a total of 50,000 — could be used to get artifacts, including weapons and wares, in the Adventurer’s Guild.

It was also possible to use them to get a place to rent out in the Adventurer’s Guild.

There was a special area reserved for B-rank adventurers, but even though he had been told, B-rank adventurers barely stayed in that building since they had homes of their own.

The points it would cost to live there per night were 5,000 AP {Adventurer’s Point}.

Ryuk didn’t know specifically how expensive that was, but he knew he needed a place to stay close to the Adventurer’s Guild so he could resume working at the earliest dawn.

Arriving before the building, which seemed more like an ultra-large bungalow made with flickering blue gem walls and glass, Ryuk stepped through the gate, only to be stopped by the guard.

"This area is limited only to B-ranked Adventurers," he said.

But then Ryuk turned over his card.

He looked at it in surprise before taking it to some sort of scanning machine that deepened into a hue of blue light, then made a loud BEEP sound for confirmation.

"Your ID has been recognized, and it seems like you’re the newly elected B-rank Adventurer. Welcome to B Adventurers’ Inn. Please continue inward..." the guard said, handing HIM back his ID card and watching as he continued into the distance.

"B-rank and so young? He should be the youngest amongst them."

"Hopefully, he’s really strong or he’ll be getting really bullied by those sadistic bastards," the guard muttered as he watched Ryuk disappear into the glass door, which soon closed behind him.

He was about to turn and re-enter the station when he paused in shock, his head snapping back toward Ryuk.

The sound of a powerful shockwave rippled out the next instant, as the entire glass door was blown to nothing.

A figure was sent flying out, rolling erratically on the ground like a ball before slamming into the iron gate and lodging within it.

At his chest, the cloth had been burned to nothing—not by fire, but by steaming ice instead.

He couldn’t help but turn back to the door, noticing Ryuk who was standing there, his right hand raised up — and from within, intense ice gleamed forth.

"What the hell? It’s been barely five seconds!" the guard said out loud in disbelief.

Ryuk’s hand reached forward as he pushed open the glass door and entered inside.

The first thing he noticed was the back of a figure draped in a long black jacket being sent flying toward him.

Ryuk instinctively stretched out his hand to help prevent the man from crashing into him.

"Hey, you alright?" he asked, watching the wobbling man, who soon turned his face to him.

It was bright red — a liquid that could have only been alcohol trailing down from his mouth and wetting his neckline, as he turned to look at Ryuk with drooping eyes.

His eyes then suddenly flashed as he roared out:

"You? A kid dares to come... hiccup! Into the B-rank... hiccup! Horse den!"

"And you touched me with... hiccup! Those dirty hands of... hiccup!"

"You deserve death... kid. And lucky for you... hiccup! Imma make it... fast!" he yelled, suddenly zooming forward — unlike his drunk self.

His hands lit up in crimson flame as he punched toward Ryuk’s head.

It connected — but it was only an afterimage.

Ryuk had shifted to the side, dodging the flame, before his leg reached out into the path of the man, who knocked onto it, only for Ryuk to twist it and send him flailing upside down in the air.

His chest was wide open, and Ryuk’s hand, covered in ice, stretched outward and gently connected with the man’s chest.

"You bastard! You dare touch me... hi—"

He didn’t finish the cup before an overwhelming force knocked into his chest, sending him flying backward as he crashed through the glass, shattering it into nothing before being flung outward with incredible speed, stopped only by slamming into the gate behind.

"I stopped him from knocking into me and even asked if he was alright, and he responded by punching my face. Idiot..." Ryuk muttered to himself as he returned his gaze away from the drunkard, before finally looking at the room.

It looked like a bar with round tables that contain about four seats each.

It was scanty, though, with just about six people sitting at the tables.

Two women and four other men were scattered around the place.

If there was one thing common about them all, it was that each had at least five bottles of alcohol already empty on their table, and around seven more to go.

The room reeked of alcohol and soberness that even its extra luxurious design couldn’t hide, making Ryuk wonder if he had entered the right place.

But then, he looked away as he turned to look at the far end, where there was a table, and behind it sat a bartender.

A grey-haired man with an eyepatch over his left eye.

In his hand, he held a handkerchief which he used to clean a couple of glass cups, his attention all over the cup and not even turning to look at the chaotic scene that just happened before him.

Ryuk walked forward toward him and waved at the man, who didn’t take his gaze away from the cup before he asked:

"Looking for a place to stay, New Guy?" he asked in a husky voice as he finally finished cleaning the glass cup and turned to look at Ryuk.

"Seems like it’s just you. So, a room, right?" he asked, and Ryuk nodded.

"It’s 5,000 points for a night — and the glass door you broke will cost 2,000 to fix. I’ll take 1,000 from you and charge the rest to the other guy."

He said this as if stating facts, and Ryuk’s eyebrows furrowed.

He wasn’t the one responsible for shattering the glass?

Well... he actually was. But then...

"Fine. Here," he said as he passed him his identity card.

He didn’t want to smell that alcohol for a second more, and if an extra 1,000 points can make that happen. So be it.

Immediately, the man took it, placing it behind a scanner similar to the guard’s.

Ryuk’s device beeped in his pocket.

"Room 27. You’re good to go..." the man said before passing the card back to Ryuk, who nodded as he headed toward the stairs — but then...

It was a feminine voice.
