Chapter 572: Powers In The Upper Realm
“Feared? But not so much since they are all banned from the Planetary Port by the Celestial Races…” Antares replied with a shrug as Ryuk had his attention piqued.
“Of course. All Conqueror races ban each other from their establishments.”
“The Planetary Port is set up by the Celestial Race. The worlds there are under their control and therefore under their protection.”
“They’ll never allow trespassing.” He said, as Ryuk’s bow furrowed a bit in confusion, which Antares sensed.
“Think of it like getting a master.” He began.
“One master is known for killing his servants and feeding on them, and the other thinks, ‘I won’t kill you, if you promise to work for me. I’ll give you protection and all you need to survive from all other masters and the world itself, but in return, you’ll serve me.”
“Of course, one master won’t allow another master to walk into his territory and mingle amongst his people. There’s a threat that comes with allowing that.”
“So, the Knulls and all Conqueror races are banned.”
“Those other Conqueror races are usually extremely evil ones that decide to side with the Knulls instead.”
“So, like a faction between light and darkness, huh?” Ryuk said as Antares smirked.
“Exactly. The Knulls and other vile races all side with each other. They’re the darkness, feasting on new worlds to death.”
“While the Celestial Race are on the good side, offering protection from external forces and dangers in return for being worked under….”
“None of the Conqueror races will cross into each other’s territory. They’re eternal enemies.” He explained as Ryuk nodded his head, but then replied.
“But still, limited kindness like that shows no real freedom at all.”
“The Celestial Race protects, but under the condition of being a slave. It’s not totally free of cost or anything…” he said as Antares shrugged.
“The world is a cold place, Ryuk. The upper world? Even colder.”
“The evil races like the Knulls kill and devour. If you willingly join them, you’ll be drafted into an army, and all your life, you’ll see nothing but pain and death.”
“Worlds after worlds being conquered.”
“The Evil Conqueror race live to fight.”
“They live to shed blood and chaos.”
“They chase the feeling of liberation from conquering worlds as much as we chase the feeling of peace and love.”
“If you gave birth, your sons and daughters will be drafted into war too, and the chaos will continue endlessly.”
“But the Celestial Race… your people are taken care of, your world is protected from the vile race who seem to only want to devour and conquer it, although in exchange, you do have to work for them.”
“But to be fair, the Celestial Race protection is not really absolute.”
“If it was, a strong bastard wouldn’t have descended onto my world one day, tried to erase my people out of existence, then capture me and throw me in a trial in some lower world.”
“The protection is not always absolute, so you have to always grow your strength too.”
“Just because the Celestial are present doesn’t mean you stop growing your cultivation and try to become stronger.”
“But things like wiping a race out to extinction are heavily banned, and if the responsible person is caught, it would be a very severe punishment.” He explained as Ryuk asked.
“So you think the one who attempted to wipe the Aetheris Barbarians out has been caught?”
“I doubt they can catch him.”
“A person with such power to wipe out an entire race solo… will usually have a very good backing. It could even be a race that is higher in hierarchy amongst the Celestial races.”
“Imagine that, Ryuk. A being from one of the higher Celestial Races putting an end to another weaker race.”
“It’s quite unbalanced, is it not?” He said, and Ryuk nodded his head.
“Seems like hell, truly.”
“There’s still that sense of hierarchy, and the stronger your race in the hierarchy, the more protection you get. You’re protected from getting wiped out by the rules, and anyone who does that will be punished.”
“But the rules never punish if you’re strong enough. And often, it never punishes those who created it in the first place…” Ryuk muttered as Antares nodded.
“But of course, the Celestial Race knew this, and that’s why they actively try to keep such events at bay.”
“If not, the people would have long rebelled under their rules a long time ago, and that will be fatal.”
“But still, there’s usually one unlucky race that gets wiped out every now and then, and my race almost became one.”
“But if not for the Celestials, we all would’ve even been wiped out for sure by the Knulls at least, or one of their vile Conqueror races. So, we can’t really complain.”
He said, as Ryuk nodded in silence.
“So out there in the world… there’s another port? A port that belongs only to the Knulls and their own evil races?” He asked as Antares nodded.
“Yes, there is. I think it’s called MorgathuNordam or something.”
“I’ve never been there, nor have I ever heard of it. I’m among the strongest of my race, but I’m only at the Eternity Stage .”
“We’re kinda like bottom of the races in the lower food chains, so I’m not privy to much information about the Conqueror races… neither have I ever been interested,” Antares said as he chuckled.
“Of course, why bother yourself with the headache? Right?”
“You got it. Poking your nose around in the upper world will only get you killed and if you have a race, you will get them killed too.”
“Mind your business and stay out of trouble. That’s one of the first three rules of surviving in the upper world,” he said as Ryuk nodded before he asked.
“I’m curious, Antares. Amongst the evil races… the Knulls are very popular, right? Like one of the higher rankings on the vile Conqueror race side?” He asked as Antares nodded.
“Of course. The Knulls are the most popular devourer races, because they breed very fast and they live for chaos only.”
“They don’t care, they don’t love, they don’t dream of a life of peace. They just want to shed blood and grow stronger, shed more blood and grow even stronger.”
“So, yeah, they’re well known and high in the rankings.”
“But I wouldn’t say they’re the most powerful, nor are they the number one of the hierarchy of all evil races. But they’re very well known and feared, too.” He said as Ryuk asked:
“Among the Celestial Races, can you tell me which are the most popular races that you know at the top of your head?”
