Abyss Draconis Chapter 656

The words were enough to make Ryuk halt completely, his hands — which had been resting on the door — pausing mid-motion before slowly retreating, as he fully turned to face her.

She beheld her amused grin, looking at him as if he were merely an interesting toy, but he asked,

"And what exactly is that supposed to mean?"

Radiant Blythe leaned forward, jaws on her hands, before replying.

"Oh, don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll understand everything soon enough..." she said to him, faint laughter escaping her lips.

But it soon died, as the temperature in the room dropped by almost a thousand degrees.

She found herself blinking once, but a blink, and everything changed.

Her familiar golden throne room was no more, replaced by a pitch-black Void, a seeming world where light had been banished.

The walls were swallowed by darkness, the air thick with crushing pressure.

And amidst it stood a figure—an entity neither human nor monster, features obstructed by an abyssal dark wave of energy floating all around him.

The instant change in pressure was so suffocating that her body sat rooted to her throne, which had become wrapped completely in dark tendrils of Void, binding her to it.

Then, his voice rang out.

A voice dangerously calm, yet divine in judgment.

"There’s a limit to my patience, and you just happen to be crossing dangerously close to it, old hag."

It said, yet an instant later, she felt something grip beneath her chin.

Something cold that gently raised her chin, only for her eyes to meet with a single crimson eye, brimming with an aura of death and destruction.

"Nothing you think you can fall back on will be able to save you when I decide to rip your life away from you."

"Nothing..." it repeated, before all of a sudden, the darkness in the room faded off along with his presence.

Radiant Blythe blinked her eyes, only to find herself back in the golden hall.

She turned towards the golden gate, almost frantically, but all she saw was the gate shutting to a close, with Ryuk nowhere to be found.

"What...what is that?" Radiant Blythe muttered in shock as her hands unconsciously moved to her heart.

She could feel it pounding, and it was the loudest she had ever heard it pound in her centuries of existence.

Rows and rows of golden castle-like buildings, all enclosed by a golden dome.

This was the place that was temporarily given to the Fallen Angels from Endearth—a temporary dwelling until they were reintegrated back into the race.

A golden Amun soon appeared before this dome of energy, entering into it as it rippled, and it soon flew down to an especially tall building situated at the center of the settlement.

Settling at the front of it, a figure slipped down from the back of the Amun, landing on the ground.

He watched as the golden door of the castle opened up.

A golden-haired figure came to light, and a moment later, she disappeared—only to reappear in front of him, falling into his arms as she gave him a deep embrace.

The sound of someone clearing their throat rang out, snapping Morgaine back to reality. A faint red blush rose to her cheeks as she realized she’d zoned out while in his embrace.

Ryuk turned to look at the Fallen Guard sitting on the Amun.

"I believe my work has been done. If you have nothing left for me, then I’ll be taking my leave now..." he said, and Ryuk gave a firm nod, watching as the Amun soon rose into the air, quickly disappearing into the distance.

"You took so long, you dickhead!" Morgaine called out loudly as Ryuk turned to her, rolling his eyes at her mad expression.

"It’s just a couple of hours..." he argued back.

"Couple of hours? It’s been 13 hours since you left," she exclaimed.

"Well, at least, he returned safely..." The words came from the gate as Ryuk sighted Old Jack, standing before it, ushering both of them in.

"Got your ID?" Old Jack asked as the family of four sat around the dining table.

Ryuk said, bringing out the golden card and passing it to him.

Old Jack looked at it, noticing the count number.

"So you have more or less 10 years to stay here in Ammamora?" He asked, as he nodded, but then noticed Old Jack’s eyes turned to the ring behind him.

"And yes, I got a ring around my back too..." Ryuk said, and he chuckled, eyeing the golden ring behind Ryuk.

It seemed to be just like a projection, hanging in the air around him while faintly mixing along with the seat.

"It honestly makes you look fancy, though. Just a hair dye to golden and I’m pretty sure, you’ll be indistinguishable from any Fallen..." Old Jack teased as Ryuk hmphed.

"No way in hell I’m changing the colour of my hair," he argued, and Old Jack chuckled.

"I figured you had something to do with the colour white a long time ago..." he said, but then Ryuk turned to look at the Half-Fallen One, noticing she seemed busy with floating holographic panels before her.

"And how did it go with you? Any info about how the Fallen Angels are getting reunited?" he asked.

The Half-Fallen One swiped her holographic panel to a point, and it soon disappeared, turning into a beam of light that rushed into her left pupil.

"You remember how the various Fallen Angels have a special family name?" she asked. Ryuk nodded.

"Yes, yours is Dominare, right?"

"It wasn’t something we formed when we got to Endearth, but got from here—Ammamora. Those family surnames are renowned families here on Ammamora, too."

"So each family will be returned to their original family here in Ammamora."

"And what about those who don’t have that family name? I’m pretty sure I remember not everyone had it back then," he couldn’t help but ask, and the Half-Fallen One nodded.

"That’s where it gets complicated," she replied.

"A proper search has to be done."

"I’ve been granted access to Ammamora’s lower sector geography... but that area’s massive. I haven’t made much progress locating everyone’s families."
