The children’s laughter from the school temporarily soothed Darby.
He shoved his hands into his pockets and strolled away from the school to avoid being questioned by patrolling police as a suspicious figure.
This city was called Dark City, a post-disaster city established underground.
The history books explained in detail that their ancestors once lived on the surface, but as the surface environment degraded and attacks from extraterrestrial civilizations occurred, they had to relocate their homes underground.
Now, the surface was filled with viruses targeting their species’ traits, making it utterly uninhabitable.
