Abyss Solo Chapter 79

Chapter 79: 048 The Guest Becomes the Host_2

The sudden vibrations made Gudun Mah instinctively glance at the third drawer on his right-hand side.

Yang Ming just smiled quietly at him, thoughts flickering through his mind, and then said, “Open it and take a look.”

Gudun Mah seemed to sense something, bowed his head, crouched down slowly, and pulled the drawer open wide to show that there were no weapons inside, taking out a long, translucent tablet.

It was from ‘that’ number.

Gudun Mah swallowed and opened the envelope. The message in the New Federation Language almost made him faint.

“Don’t make yourself worthless, Mah.”

Gudun Mah trembled as he sought to reply, but the phone lightly vibrated, a series of garbled text appeared inside, the screen actually burned itself, and a wisp of white smoke rose from the edge of the phone.

Yang Ming observed Gudun Mah closely.

For a moment, Yang Ming seemed to see a pale purple glow expanding outward from the outer layer of Gudun Mah’s brain.

Wow, has this old guy fallen completely into fear?

That makes things easier.

“General, how about recording a video?”

Yang Ming squinted, smiling:

“Since I’ve gained your trust, you should trust me too. If I leave here, all you need to do is deploy a warship, let the main cannon aim at the small shuttle I’m in, and then boom, I’ll be cosmic dust.

“You’re thinking that, aren’t you?”

“No, no no,” Gudun Mah hurriedly said, “I’m just a businessman, sir, a simple businessman! I absolutely don’t want any trouble; I want to become your friend, yes, a friend.”

Yang Ming activated the watch’s video recording function and slowly said, “Stand up, take off your shirt.”

Gudun Mah tightly frowned, “Sir, this is completely unnecessary; I will keep my word…”

Yang Ming’s fist brushed past Gudun Mah’s ear, and his right ear instantly turned red, with a trickle of fresh blood flowing from it.

“I’m not negotiating with you, General.”

The old man trembled as he stood up, slowly stripping off his shirt, his eyes full of despair.

When he tried to take off his pants, he was stopped by Yang Ming.

“I’m not trying to humiliate you; you don’t need to take off your pants,” Yang Ming said, shaking his head slightly in distaste, pointing to the account sheets on the holographic display, “Read them; these numbers look familiar, don’t they?”

Gudun Mah swallowed hard.

These accounts recorded the deals he had done and were almost identical to his secret ledger.

Before leaving, Yang Ming specifically reminded him:

“I have a life mailbox, and if anything happens to me or if I choose to, I can send the contents inside it to a designated location at any time.

“In this line of work, we all have something ; I occasionally record some operation logs for my superiors.

“I came to Wind for a business deal, and since everyone is a businessman, we should cooperate well; I don’t want anyone to know about our conversation today, remember, not anyone.

“General, from now on, you can always talk to me like an old friend.”

Gudun Mah nodded woodenly.

His eyes had lost focus.

When Yang Ming closed the door, he felt a bit anxious himself.

Doing this for the first time, it was bound to be less skillful in execution, and he wasn’t sure how he fared.

“Lyu, keep a close eye on him.”

Yang Ming murmured softly while using the gesture of rubbing his nose.

The guards ahead looked over with suspicion, each gripping their laser guns tightly.

Gudun Mah looked at the intercom beside him, dazed for a few seconds, then suddenly lunged forward, grabbed the intercom, and roared:

“You bunch of idiots! Fools! Useless bunch! How could you… how could you neglect my distinguished guest ! Take this gentleman to the VIP room, I’ll tidy up and come over right away.”

The guards outside, dozens of officers directly under Gudun Mah’s command, could only look at each other in confusion.

On the transport ship flying back to the surface of Ilando Star.

Yang Ming sat cross-legged on the central seat of the bridge. Beside him were two soldiers holding fruit, and in front of him was the major who had captured Yang Ming.

The major made no attempt to hide his flattery; he had also been ordered to silence and could not reveal anything about what happened today.

Yang Ming was not nearly as calm inside as he appeared on the surface.

The Particle Transmission Machine was on standby at all times.

If any ship cannon were aimed at this transport ship, Yang Ming would be directly transmitted away.

From now until reaching the ground, if Gudun Mah did not act recklessly, this sudden game of chess would conclude with Yang Ming’s overall victory.

This deadlock was miraculously revived by Yang Ming’s tightrope walking.

Of course, great hidden dangers still existed afterward; once on this tightrope, there was no turning back.

If that Deputy Chief of Staff decided to destroy him at all costs, Yang Ming could only give up all his illusions of the Luofeng Empire and wish Kolev a long life.

He was gambling with his life.

—Gambling with his deputy’s life.

The ship continued its rapid passage through the geostationary orbit.

The airspace remained unusually quiet.

In the corner of the watch’s dial was the flashing green breathing light.

Yang Ming had no interest in watching the television program in front of him. He was pondering and probing.

He seemed to see, in that just cleaned-up luxury office, the skinny Deputy Chief of Staff pacing anxiously, constantly emitting low roars and curses.

This couldn’t be blamed on him being caught off guard.

Several agile mechanical guards hidden behind secret doors, an instantly activated protective energy shield, and the guards standing outside made Gudun Mah never imagine that he would feel such an intense threat to his life from an unarmed man.

Gudun Mah didn’t even know where he had offended the New Federation, this damned, deceitful New Federation, that had made so much money with him and now held his wife, children, and his crimes in their hands!

Despicable, downright despicable!

Gudun Mah roared with a suppressed voice.

The spaceship entered the atmosphere.

A faint smile formed at the corner of Yang Ming’s mouth.

The possibility of the other party taking action had approached zero.

The Particle Transmission Machine remained on standby.

Yang Ming disembarked the spaceship on the edge of the city, declined the major’s offer to escort him back to the hotel, and left in an autonomously operated hover car.

There was some congestion on the road.

Before he could find Kolev to rendezvous with him, Lyu sent a short video.

The transport ship he had just taken, once again left the atmosphere, sailing through the dark cosmos, when suddenly a bright light flashed, and a violent explosion occurred inside the ship, with the expanding flames swallowing everything.

The major, and his two squads of soldiers, were not spared.

Yang Ming was silent for a moment; looking at the prosperous city outside the window, he shook his head, smiled lightly, and gathered his spirits.

Even though the start had thrown him into some peculiar events, making himself very passive, things seemed quite favorable overall.

A message popped up on his watch, which of course came from Lyu.

Yang Ming glanced at the driving robot and opted for non-projection reading.

Oh, he guessed wrong, it was from his dear Uncle Haton.
