The next day, when Chloe Grant woke up for breakfast, she noticed a few bruises on Lucas’s face, as if he had been beaten up.
Chloe Grant was a bit surprised.
Her first reaction was concern.
But, when she was about to ask, Chloe restrained herself.
She had promised herself that from now on, whatever happened to Lucas was none of her business!
She wouldn’t be a saint.
She had always considered Lucas’s feelings, but he never cared about her.
Why should she... disrespect herself?
Chloe walked to the dining table and noticed that Lady Morgan looked a bit upset, and her breakfast was barely touched.
"Grandma, are you alright?" Chloe asked with concern.
Isabella Gray raised her eyes and glared fiercely at Lucas, "It’s all because of this brat! Making a racket in the middle of the night, disturbing everyone."
Isabella Gray was extremely sensitive, and couldn’t tolerate any noise while sleeping. If disturbed, she’d have a terrible night.
Which would mean she’d be in poor spirits the next day.
Chloe immediately thought back to the scene with Lucas and realized she was partly to blame for Isabella’s condition today.
Chloe was about to apologize when Matthew Morgan suddenly coughed.
"Chloe, the matter you asked me for help with has been taken care of."
Matthew took a sip of porridge and spoke simply.
Chloe was a bit taken aback, "What?"
"Did something happen?" Isabella Gray also expressed concern.
Lucas immediately turned to look at Chloe, with shock and confusion in his eyes.
She had a problem, why didn’t she come to him?
From childhood, whenever this girl had a problem, wasn’t it him she thought of first?
