Chloe Grant abruptly woke up.
Why did she think of him?
Chloe Grant shook her head, repeating firmly, "Mom, I’ve made up my mind!"
Her mother took a moment before responding, "I’ll discuss it with your father and call you back in a few days. Take this time to think it over yourself."
After hanging up, Chloe Grant placed the phone aside.
She thought she would feel relieved, but instead found her mind weighed down heavily.
It felt like something was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe, oppressing her.
A car horn sounded from downstairs,

Chloe Grant watched, feeling her chest hurt badly, yet unable to tear her gaze away.
Like a masochist, she stared at their entwined forms, kissing passionately, finally parting reluctantly.
If Lily Grant hadn’t told her those things back then, Chloe Grant would never have realized that Lily wasn’t sincere with Lucas.
Because every time, she acted like she admired him, like she was so fond of him.
In this world, as long as your acting is good, even your eyes can deceive.
As the light dimmed slightly, Chloe Grant vaguely realized that Lucas Morgan had already driven away.

Her right hand was in a cast, and she used her left hand to support herself on the table, glancing out the window...
"Oh, from this angle, you could’ve seen the scene between me and Lucas just now." She said deliberately, turning to smile at Chloe Grant, "Seeing Lucas and me still so in love, does it make your heart ache?"
"You didn’t expect, by bringing Abigail Parker over to dig up my dirt, that Lucas Morgan and I should’ve broken up?"
Lily Grant shook her head, looking helpless, "But sorry, Lucas Morgan’s feelings for me are deeper than anything else."
"If I squat there, cry a little more pitifully, he can’t bear it anymore."
Lily Grant laughed smugly.
Last night, she indeed thought she was doomed.
