Chloe Grant is now sitting on the sofa in Matthew Morgan’s office. She has taken off her shoes and curled up on the sofa, finding a position that is most comfortable, although not very graceful.
Even though this is quite an impolite behavior...
Fortunately, Matthew Morgan has shown some humanity, having someone bring her snacks and flower tea, and using a screen to block off this section.
The part that is exposed is where Matthew Morgan sits in the office. Whenever he lifts his head, he can see it. However, when staff come in to deliver documents or discuss matters, they can’t see Chloe Grant.
Initially, Chloe was cautious, but later she completely relaxed, eating snacks while browsing Weibo.
In front of Matthew Morgan is a pile of documents, and his computer is filled with many work emails, genuinely busy.
No matter how busy he is, though, he will occasionally lift his head to look at the person behind the screen, curled up on the sofa, browsing Weibo and eating.
At that moment, he had only one thought in his mind: Time is peaceful, with you by my side.
Two o’clock in the afternoon.
Chloe wakes up from a nap, and her stomach growls like crazy.
She looks up towards Matthew Morgan and finds him still buried in work.
He was always busy before, but she didn’t expect him to be this busy.
The snacks on the table are almost finished, and Chloe is really hungry, wanting to eat.
But with Matthew Morgan so absorbed in work, she doesn’t dare to disturb him.
As Chloe is looking at Matthew Morgan, he happens to look up, and their eyes meet directly.
Matthew Morgan is somewhat surprised.
Chloe’s first reaction is to quickly avert her gaze, lowering her head with a guilty look.
Matthew puts down his pen, checks the time, and realizes it’s already past two in the afternoon.
During lunch, the secretary came in to ask once, but since she was asleep, he told the secretary not to order food.
Matthew stood up from his chair, put on his suit jacket, and walked towards Chloe.
Chloe stayed in her previous posture, and when she saw Matthew approaching, she took one look before lowering her eyes again.
She’s still somewhat afraid and has a bit of an urge to avoid him.
"Get up, I’ll take you to eat," he said.
Just as he finished speaking, Chloe’s stomach growled very appropriately.
Chloe’s face turned red on the spot, covering her stomach and licking her dry lips, lowering her head even more.
But Matthew laughed, reached out to take her wrist, and pulled her up.
