Matthew stood to the side and directly said, "Speak."
He’s not one who likes beating around the bush, nor does he have the patience to listen to anyone’s ramblings—except Chloe’s.
Lucas gave a bitter smile before finally speaking, "For the past two years, you’ve always used the excuse of discussing my company’s collaboration with the Morgan Group to talk to me, and then you casually asked when I would get engaged... I’ve always known that my company and the Morgan Group have a constant partnership, with plenty of people to handle it. There’s no need for you to personally get involved.
The only reason you do this is to casually ask at the end when I’ll be getting engaged."
Matthew listened to Lucas’s explanation without any expression and didn’t deny it.
Lucas sighed and continued, "I’ve always been telling you, soon, soon, just waiting for her to agree..."
At this point, Lucas couldn’t help but laugh at himself.
"Sorry, I’m not much of a gentleman."
Matthew slightly nodded, still saying nothing, his eyes indicating for Lucas to continue.
"Actually, for the past two years, she’s been waiting for you. I didn’t want to tell you because I thought she liked me, that she was only touched by you, only feeling guilty, she..."
Lucas got a bit emotional, shook his head, and tried to control his emotions, "But it was only yesterday that I realized... Before, it was always you who was by her side, and later, it was still you—in the future... all she needs is you."
Meanwhile, inside the living room of the villa.
Chloe Grant had prepared the Birthday Cake and called Isabella Gray over to eat.
Ralph Koch initially paid no mind, but the aroma drew him over. Seeing the Birthday Cake that was so different from his expectations, he was quite surprised.
