The group chatted as they headed toward the wooden cabin.
They arrived in front of the cabin.
"Wow, this looks pretty nice. I’ll go up first and check it out for you guys," Yang Leqi said, dropping her luggage and running upstairs.
"I’ll go take a look too," Wang Sirui immediately followed.
"Sister Qin Yun, let’s go up and have a look too," Qin Hao proactively suggested.
Qin Yun wasn’t interested and was about to decline when Chen Yao also said, "Let’s go together."
She could only nod and agree, "Alright."
The three were about to head upstairs when a director approached them after some discussion, "Teacher Qin, hold on a second."
"Hmm?" Qin Yun stopped, turned slightly, looked over with curiosity, slurped down her jelly, and asked, "What’s up?"
"Teacher Qin, do you still want to snack on these?" The director felt a bit embarrassed, blushing and hesitantly asked.
"Do you want some? You guys just agreed to let me eat them," Qin Yun tightened her grip on the two remaining jellies in her hand, a wary glint in her peach blossom eyes.
Director team: "..."
We did agree to let you eat, but we didn’t expect you to eat so much...
The director sent over looked awkwardly at the others.
However, everyone else turned away, pretending to be chatting with someone beside them, none meeting his gaze.
"Uh, it’s just that we need to shoot material, and if you keep eating, many shots won’t be usable. You wouldn’t want to find yourself with no scenes in the final cut, right?" The director explained, meeting Qin Yun’s vigilant gaze.
"Oh, then just cut them," Qin Yun said nonchalantly, opening another jelly and finishing it off.
Unable to persuade Qin Yun, the director silently returned.
Not even the threat of cutting scenes could sway her, what else could?
Terminate the contract?
She’s just eating something, not violating any rules, there’s no ground for that.
With no one to disturb her, she took out a bag of sunflower seeds, opened it and started to snack, pretending to ask, "Do you guys want some?"
"No, I’m on a diet," Qin Hao quickly waved his hand.
Chen Yao was about to join a film group, so he couldn’t eat either, both declined.
Qin Yun blissfully snacked on sunflower seeds, her beautiful peach blossom eyes curving with delight, so satisfying.
Just then, Yang Leqi’s voice came from the second floor, "Sister Yun, come quick! This room looks amazing."
"Coming," she hurried upstairs.
Upon entering the room with Yang Leqi, brilliant sunlight filtered through the glass window, warm and cozy.
Pushing the window open, outside was a view of verdant mountains and clear waters, melodious birds chirping, a gentle breeze carried a faint sweet fragrance of flowers, along with about twenty sheep grazing.
"We choose this room," the two of them said in unison.
They decided that the two girls would share the room facing the sun, Wang Sirui and Chen Yao would share another room on the second floor, while Qin Hao would have a room to himself, also upstairs.
After deciding on the rooms, just as they lay down to rest, there was a knock on the door from the program team.
"I’ll get it!" Yang Leqi bounced off the bed, saying cheerfully.
Opening the door, the program team said, "Teacher Yang, Teacher Qin, come down for the dinner task challenge."
"Oh, we’ll be right down." She closed the door, recalling her agent mentioning there might be some work-related tasks in this variety show, and asked, "Sister Yun, are you changing clothes? I can cover the camera so it can’t see."
"No need for me, you go ahead if you want to change," she replied casually.
"Then I’ll change into something more comfortable," Yang Leqi glanced at her attire, hmm... she definitely needed to change, as the high heels and dress were far from practical.
She opened her suitcase, taking out a pair of loose-fitting jeans and a T-shirt, and decided to head to the bathroom.
By the time the two went down, the other three were already seated in the hall.
Seeing everyone was present, the director team began to outline the task.
"Split into two teams, one team herds the chickens into the coop, the other brings the sheep back into the pen. Only when both teams complete their tasks can you enjoy a delicious dinner."
"Director, the chickens you mentioned to herd into the coop, you don’t mean the ones we just passed by, the ones clucking around on the trees and on the ground, right?"
Yang Leqi tensed up, and the thought of needing to catch so many chickens into the coop made her feel uneasy.
She awkwardly turned to Qin Yun and said, "Sister Yun, let’s go herd the sheep. I just saw them from upstairs, they seem gentle, shouldn’t be too hard."
"I’m fine with either," the taste is different; it’s good to try both.
Chen Yao clearly noticed Yang Leqi’s fear and chimed in, "Chickens can fly, as you girls, it might be tough to catch them. We’ll go catch the chickens, and you two go herd the sheep."
"Yes, yes, and I can catch them all in no time, maybe even roast a couple for dinner," Wang Sirui said, eyes shining brightly, rubbing his hands eagerly.
Qin Hao was slightly reluctant but reminded this was for a variety show, he swallowed his hesitation and didn’t refuse the arrangement.
Yang Leqi breathed a sigh of relief, glad she wouldn’t have to deal with the chickens.
"Alright then, the props are in the small shed beside, choose as you like."
The group went to the small shed to select tools and headed to their respective tasks.
As the sun was still high, Yang Leqi hummed a little tune, picking flowers along the way, and occasionally turned back to chat with Qin Yun.
By the time the two arrived at the sheep grazing area, Yang Leqi had a big bunch of wildflowers in her hand. Smiling with her eyes curved, she turned and handed the flowers to Qin Yun, "Sister Yun, these are for you."
Hearing her, Qin Yun shifted her gaze from the little chubby sheep, looking at the bouquet suddenly appearing in front of her, her peach blossom eyes blinking, "Uh, thanks."
As Qin Yun averted her gaze, the pressure on the sheep diminished, and their legs felt less wobbly, daring to lift their heads to see who the big shot was.
This glimpse was enough, a knowing glance was given, starry eyes gleamed, and a faint lick of the lips indicated one thing— their intent to eat them!
"Sister Yun, how do we herd them back to their pen? I’ve never herded before. Have you?" Yang Leqi didn’t notice anything amiss, glancing around, the return path seemed quite a distance.
Qin Yun looked at the frightened, huddling sheep, almost stacking up, as if she was eyeing a dish, her lips suspiciously moist with a tiny bit of transparency, unwaveringly said, "Nope, no need to herd, they will go back on their own."
"What?" Yang Leqi doubted her hearing.
"Nothing, go give it a try, it might be easier than you think."
"Makes sense, everyone says I’m a quick learner, no matter what it is." Yang Leqi nodded earnestly without doubt and immediately took a rod to attempt herding the sheep.
The sheep, seeing the woman drooling over them, and exuding an intimidating aura, were compelled to comply with her gaze.
