After Breaking Up, I Married the General Chapter 9

Ryzel started thinking of all the problems he needed to solve.

He would be turning 20 in a month, which meant he needed to be married according to the federation's law.

He would be turning twenty in a month. The main problem is for him to find a sentinel within a month. Not just any sentinel, but a sentinel that could stand against his family.

If he isn't married to a powerful sentinel, he can't even get his inheritance back.

He knew that the rest of his family—her aunts, uncles, and cousins—didn't want to give back his inheritance.

Ryzel's parents died on the battlefield when he was ten years old. Because of his young age, under the guise of guardianship, his relatives divided up his inheritance.

In the actual contract, it says that once he reaches adulthood, he can take care of his inheritance.

Ryzel knew that it would be impossible to get anything if he didn't have any support.

He actually doesn't care too much about his other properties; what he really wants to get is the main battleship, which was owned by his father, and the laboratory of his mother.

Ryzel didn't care if he couldn't get all his other properties.

But he really wanted to take back the main battleship and the laboratory, which were the most important things to his parents.

He didn't want his parents' beloved battleship and laboratory to deteriorate in the hands of his incompetent relatives.

If he can't get some of the inheritance back, he can't even pay for his remaining school expenses.

His relatives didn't want other people to say that they couldn't even take care of him.

So, all his clothes and anything that he has that can be seen outside are all high-end.

But for his schooling, his relatives just paid the minimum or basic amount, ensuring he could study in the academy.

He was studying medicine, which is very costly.

So, actually, all of his other expenses came from government support or subsidies for guides.

After he reaches the age of 20, the government's assistance will also cease, leaving him unable to pay for his expenses.

Guides' assistance from the government will naturally cease once they reach the age of twenty because they are supposed to be married already.

Naturally, it would be their sentinels who would shoulder all their expenses. If the sentinels can't even do it, then they are deemed to be incompetent. Their chances for any promotions would be gone.

So unless their sentinels die in an accident or on the battlefield, guides won't be receiving any financial support from the government after the age of twenty.

Ryzel knew that his relatives didn't want to give back the battleship and the laboratory because they were their main source of strength and income.

He also knew it would be hard for them to give back any of his inheritance aside from the battleship and the laboratory.

Since he was destined to be married, he decided to find a high-level sentinel for support who could at least help him.

Dwight possesses all of the characteristics required to get at least a portion of his inheritance.

He was a colonel and a high-level sentinel. His future looks promising. Even if he couldn't assist him right away, he could wait a few years for Dwight's rank to rise.

Now that he thinks about it, perhaps Dwight and his relatives are already in cahoots, and he approached him merely to make him relax his guard.

If he can't find a marriage partner, then he is destined to be sent to the fringe stars for 10 years as soon as he wasn't married at his twentieth birthday. Which meant he couldn't do anything about his inheritance.

If the guide does not have a partner on the day before their twentieth birthday, they will be matched with sentinels listed as available through the system.

They would marry the sentinel with the highest match rate.

It is actually not bad, because having a high matching rate means that the sentinels and guides are highly compatible.

The guides can give more effective guidance to their sentinels. And their sentinels can better protect them.

But for him, it isn't effective. He knew his relatives had enough connections for them to interfere with the system's matching rate.

He saw it firsthand when his first cousin wanted to be matched to a guide who, in the first place, didn't like him very much. But since the guide's family doesn't have any powerful backing, the guide was still married to his first cousin.

Thinking all about his problems that stemmed out just because of the sudden breakup makes him want to bury Dwight and Sean.

He was really thankful for Lyre.

Their plan should be to inform him of the cancellation of their marriage on his birthday because it doesn't make any sense to give him time to look for another sentinel.

But because Sean cried, making Dwight angry, Dwight came to inform him about the cancellation of their marriage.

There should have been a lot of people in the restaurant yesterday. That's why, when Lyre made a fuss, a lot of people witnessed it.

Sean cared about his reputation too much and didn't want to be labeled anything bad. Knowing Sean, he deliberately cried in front of Dwight.

'Ah, Sean is really talented.'

If he used his talent for other things, Ryzel would appreciate him better.

Ryzel couldn't help but sigh.

He knew he needed to look for a partner, but he didn't know where to start looking for a high-level sentinel.

Dwight was the only high-level sentinel he was close with.

At school, he was focused more on his studies; that's why he only had Lyre as a close friend. And his classmates are all guides, so he can't even ask them for help.

Now, he could only think of calling Lyre for help. With Lyre's outgoing personality, he can assume he knows a lot of people.

He opened his light brain and called Lyre. Without waiting for a minute, Lyre immediately answered.
