"Is she your girlfriend?"
William’s smile visibly disappeared.
Sophie Parker enthusiastically extended her hand,
"Mr. William, nice to meet you."
Before Sophie’s outstretched hand could touch William’s, he hurriedly shook it off, as if it were something dirty.
William rolled his eyes. What kind of person thinks they’re worthy of shaking hands with him?
He had just been chatting with Adam Willow and had a pretty good impression of the young man; though his professional skills were mediocre, he was at least someone the doctor valued.
Out of respect for Doctor X, he was even planning to cooperate with Love & Kindness Hospital where Adam Willow worked.
"Mr. William, apologies for the lack of hospitality.
I hope you and the delegation can forgive us."
Minister James also stepped forward.
The ambulances had arrived outside, and some guests with minor injuries caused by the power outage were already being attended to.
Doctor Reed quickly approached too.
"Mr. William, Adam has already explained the basic situation of our Love & Kindness Hospital.
You just mentioned that you have confidence in our hospital.
When will we be able to sign the cooperation agreement?"
Doctor Reed knew that many hospitals and institutions were eager to cooperate with X Research Institute, but thanks to the relationship between Adam Willow and Doctor X, this collaboration seemed certain.
"Regarding the cooperation, I’ve changed my mind.
I think, this time, we will conduct a public recruitment to decide the collaborative partner for X Research Institute.
Over the next month, I and my delegation will review the submissions from various institutions and hospitals and conduct on-site inspections to select the most suitable partner for our institute."
With that, William left with the delegation, leaving everyone else in shock.
"Adam, what on earth is going on here?
Weren’t you having a good conversation with Mr. William earlier in the VIP room?
How did he change his mind in just the blink of an eye?"
Doctor Reed questioned Adam Willow.
Adam Willow also didn’t know what had happened; William’s attitude seemed to have changed after seeing Sophie Parker.
Sophie Parker was even more confused.
"Emily, did I hear wrong?
Did Mr. William just say there will be a public recruitment?
Doesn’t that mean we at Multi-Faceted Music can also apply?"
Evelyn Hanson, who had eaten her fill, also heard William’s remarks and deliberately said out loud.
"That should be what he meant."
She caught a glimpse of Evan Palmer being helped out by his secretary with an injury on his forehead.
And Father Parker was being scolded by Minister James for the unsuccessful organization of the reception.
She patted her now-satisfied stomach, feeling the trip today was definitely worth it.

Having watched the drama unfold, Carlos offered to send the two women home.
As Carlos contacted the driver, a message came through on Emily Parker’s pager.
She replied casually and then deleted it.
Behind her, Adam Willow’s gaze was fixed on her.
"Brother Adam, don’t worry.
I think Mr. William is just following procedure; this collaboration will surely come to fruition."
Sophie Parker glared fiercely at Emily Parker’s back; after making a fool of herself at the reception, Emily would be unable to stand in the medical community!
