After Marrying Him, the Ending Has Changed Chapter 40

Chapter 40: Chapter 40 Why So Stupid

Watching the affectionate father and daughter, Su Wanyu reached out and pinched Jiang Mianmian’s ear, asking irritably, “So if I eat it, does that make me a bad mother?”

“Good, good!” Jiang Mianmian, daring not to move, blinked frantically, her eyes showing sincerity.

Seeing her daughter’s flattering expression, Su Wanyu laughed, “I won’t eat it either, I’ll leave it all for you, my little greedy cat.”

Although she had a bit of a sweet tooth and had snatched quite a few treats from her daughter, she wouldn’t go as far as to undercut her at such a crucial moment.

After all, what were a few eggs? Once her daughter got the prize money, eating meat buns every day would be no problem!

Trading eggs for meat buns was an incredible bargain!

Jiang Mianmian, unaware of her mother’s thoughts, was moved and began to sing, “In this world, only mothers are good, children with mothers are like treasures; snuggling in mother’s arms, where else to find happiness?”

“As long as you know!” Su Wanyu released her grip, “Come on, let’s go eat.”

The family stormed to the dining table with gusto, picking up their bowls and starting to fight over the food, aiming for the stir-fried cauliflower with pork—the only dish with meat.

Sun Lixia, already looking displeased, indignantly pointed out, “Big brother and sister-in-law, aren’t you starting to eat before mom and dad have even lifted their chopsticks? That’s not proper etiquette!”

After all the crying and fussing by her two sons, and only being allowed to have egg custard once a week by the grandmother-in-law, why should it be so?!

It was her sons, after all, who would truly carry on the lineage of the Old Jiang Family, not San Ya, that money-losing venture!

Hearing this, the second daughter-in-law looked at her in surprise. Wasn’t the eldest’s family always ?

However, the three members of the first house didn’t even spare her a glance, their mouths and hands too busy to be idle.

Although Jiang Mianmian knew it wasn’t polite, her father had told her to fight for her food, and as his daughter, she couldn’t just ignore her own dad, could she?

After all, there weren’t many goodies at home, and she, still growing, needed to absorb as much nutrition as possible, or she wouldn’t grow tall.

At this moment, the old lady walked in with cured meat, scolding disdainfully, “You eat like you haven’t eaten in eight hundred years. When have I ever not fed you enough?!”

Good thing she hadn’t put the cured meat on the table yet.

Jiang Changhai justified himself, “We’ve been fed enough, but without any fat or oil, we get hungry quickly, stomachs grumbling after just a couple of hours of work.”

This comment left the Jiang family members utterly speechless. The eldest sure had some thick skin; a day’s work by him probably wouldn’t amount to what they could do in two hours.

And the eldest’s daughter-in-law, despite her frail appearance, didn’t do much work, but she ate just as much as they did!

Jiang Dashan kept his cool, “Let’s just eat.”

After eating, a few children surrounded Jiang Mianmian, “San Ya, are you really going to learn that much in two months?”

“Yes,” the determined Jiang Mianmian nodded quite calmly.

The older children’s faces immediately showed admiration while Jiang Zhiwu looked on with a mixture of fear and seriousness, “San Ya, let me tell you, third-grade textbooks are really hard, I can’t even understand them.”

In fact, he thought his younger sister wasn’t very smart, foolish enough to ask to learn so many things!

“I think I can understand them,” Jiang Mianmian stood with her small chin up, displaying an adult’s confidence, which left the children awestruck.

Da Ya looked at her with eyes full of envy and admiration, “San Ya, you are so amazing. Aibao taught us several times this morning, and I still can’t remember those pinyin.”

Er Ya also asked eagerly, full of curiosity, “San Ya, how come you can memorize the textbook’s content so quickly?”
