Su Wanyu led Yu Cheng inside, "Mianmian, look who’s here."
Jiang Mianmian looked up to see Yu Cheng in a black leather jacket with a light-colored wool sweater underneath, looking very handsome. She immediately ran over with excitement, "Brother Yu, why didn’t you tell me before you came?"
"I wanted to surprise you all, Little Lamb. You’ve grown taller since I last saw you a semester ago." Yu Cheng stretched out his hand to measure Jiang Mianmian’s height.
"Yeah, I also think I’ve grown a lot. My dad said I can definitely grow tall." Jiang Mianmian said proudly.
Wang Li and Li Lan were also very happy to greet Yu Cheng.
"Hmm." Yu Cheng glanced at the two and responded indifferently.
Seeing that the Jiang family had a visitor, Li Lan tactfully said, "Aunt Wan, Mianmian, it’s almost time for dinner, I’d better go home to eat. I won’t come back this afternoon."
"Ah, okay, then Lanlan, come over tomorrow." Su Wanyu said with a smile.
Li Lan not only left herself but also dragged away Wang Li, who lacked tact and insisted on staying at the Jiang family’s home to play with Yu Cheng.
"Come on, Yu Cheng, have some hot water to warm up. You must be tired after such a long train ride," Su Wanyu said as she poured a cup of hot water and handed it to Yu Cheng with a smile.
"Aunt Wan, don’t trouble yourself. I’m not tired. I came by helicopter and it only took a few hours," Yu Cheng explained as he took the cup.
"You flew here? That’s great, only a few hours away. How’s Grandpa Yu doing?" Su Wanyu asked with concern, sitting on the sofa looking at Yu Cheng.
"Grandpa is very healthy. He eats two bowls of rice each meal and is always energetic, even more so than young people." Yu Cheng’s eyes shone with a smile as he talked about Elder Yu.
"Right, mom, Grandpa Yu gets up early every day to go to the headquarters, and he’s very busy all day," Jiang Mianmian added playfully.
After chatting with Yu Cheng for a while, Su Wanyu stood up as it was nearly time to prepare dinner and said, "Yu Cheng, you and Mianmian play at home. I’m going out to buy some groceries. I’ll cook something delicious for you later."
"Thank you, Aunt Wan."
Su Wanyu went to the kitchen to get a small basket for the groceries and then left the house in a thick cotton coat.
Jiang Mianmian, seeing her mother wrapped up like that, then turned back to look at Yu Cheng who was dressed handsomely yet thinly, and sincerely asked, "Brother Yu, aren’t you cold wearing so little?"
"Not cold at all. I naturally have a lot of body heat, so I don’t feel cold wearing these. If you don’t believe me, feel my hand." Yu Cheng said as he opened his right hand and slightly extended it forward.
Jiang Mianmian naturally reached out and touched Yu Cheng’s hand–indeed, it wasn’t cold.
Surprisingly, his hands were warmer than hers, even though he had just come in from outside and she had been indoors all this time.
She said enviously, "Brother Yu, I’m so jealous of you. It’s so cold, yet you’re not cold wearing so little, unlike me. Every winter, my parents bundle me up like a ball. No matter what I say, they won’t agree to let me wear less."
"That’s because you have a weaker constitution, and Uncle Jiang and Aunt Wan are afraid you’ll catch a cold or get sick. If you want to wear less, then join me for morning exercise during this winter break. Once your health improves, they probably won’t control you anymore," Yu Cheng suggested.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Mianmian shook her head without a second thought and refused, "No, please spare me. In this freezing weather, I don’t want to leave this warm house to go out for a morning run."
