After Marrying Him, the Ending Has Changed Chapter 80

Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The Petty Merchant

“No way?!” Jiang Mianmian was shocked and hurriedly looked at the bottom left corner of the screen, and it was indeed true.

That wouldn’t do, she still needed the detector for hunting!

The stingy system of a shady dealer, only granting her three minutes of use time after she painstakingly finished studying a book, was too outrageous!

Hearing her inner thoughts, the system thought to itself it was only because she was too lazy that it needed to clamp down on her lifeline to force her to strive to become a top student.

But verbally, it said in a considerate manner, “Host can study within the system, so it won’t interfere with your sleep time.”

Jiang Mianmian snorted, “I’ll study on my own during class.”

She certainly didn’t want to use her sleep time for studying!

Moreover, the textbooks in the fourth grade were simple, and she would know the material just by reading through them once.

Hearing this, the system didn’t push too hard, knowing that it wasn’t easy to erase the studying-impaired habits she had developed over a decade or more overnight.

In order to get more time on the detector, Jiang Mianmian began secretly self-studying during class the next day.

On the way home from school in the afternoon, out of a sense of crisis, she even asked her dad, “Dad, the money we made from selling the grain last time is almost gone, right?” Jiang Mianmian inquired.

Jiang Changhai was about to shake his head, but then he remembered what his wife had said and ambiguously grunted, “There’s a little left.”

Hearing this, Jiang Mianmian felt an even greater sense of urgency, realizing that she truly needed to finish studying her fourth-grade textbooks ahead of time.

However, in order to continue eating meat and fine grain daily, she still had the system activate the detector to find rat holes.

But to her disappointment, the several rat holes detected didn’t contain much grain.

Fortunately, just as they were about to enter the village, a bright patch of golden light emerged, and Jiang Mianmian revealed a satisfied smile: little creatures, I’ve finally found you.

Pointing in the direction of the rat hole, she suppressed her excitement and said, “Dad, there’s a big rat.”

“A rat?” Jiang Changhai’s eyes lit up at the mention of rats; last time they dug out a rat’s hole, he had made quite a bit of money. Now, to him, rats meant grain.

With the detector on, Jiang Mianmian pointed out the direction for Jiang Changhai, who followed the line of her finger to locate the rat hole.

After clearing away the stuff above the rat hole and seeing the entrance, he memorized the location before carefully concealing it again.

Then he turned to Jiang Mianmian with a glee, saying, “Ah, my precious daughter, you really are Dad’s lucky star. Once Dad sells the grain and gets some money, I’ll buy you a big meat-stuffed bun.”

Jiang Mianmian swallowed, pointing at the rat hole confidently, “Dad, that rat just now was even fatter than the one we saw last time. There must be even more grain in their hole.”

Jiang Changhai glanced at the rat hole again, made sure he had hidden it well so it would be unnoticed by most people, then took Jiang Mianmian’s hand and walked back, “Don’t worry, my girl. We’ll come back when it’s dark and no one’s around to dig up the grain, just like last time.”

So that evening, the three of them repeated their old trick, digging out the grain and secretly stashing it away.

And this time, they excavated even more grain than the last—over three hundred pounds, delighting the trio.

Early the next morning, Jiang Changhai again secretly led out the village’s Old Niu, not caring about the scolding he might get.

Those who had bought grain from him previously saw he was back and approached him to buy more. Over one hundred pounds of grain was quickly sold out.

This time, with past experience under his belt, he didn’t just accept any coupons offered to him. Instead, he intentionally collected several more milk coupons.
