Back at the East Lake Villa, Sun Xiaorui was the only one sitting on the living room sofa, browsing short videos and letting out occasional laughter.
Seeing Chen Feng, Sun Xiaorui got up excitedly from the sofa and trotted over to hug him.
Chen Feng teased, "This happy, did you find some money?"
"Happy for no reason." Sun Xiaorui wrapped her arms around his waist, looking up at him with a smile on her lips, like a fox that had successfully snatched a chicken.
Chen Feng guessed what was on her mind and asked, "Where are the other two?"
Sun Xiaorui’s smile faltered as she tried to sound natural, "They went out, said they were going house hunting, planning to move out."
Upon hearing this, Chen Feng’s brows furrowed slightly. Although he no longer wanted to continue dating Wu Mengting, he had not intended for her to move out.
Moreover, Chen Feng still wanted to keep in touch with Wu Mengting, after all, having acknowledged her as a sister, he meant to take care of her, and that definitely required seeing each other often.
"You didn’t give them a hard time, did you?" Chen Feng asked Sun Xiaorui with some suspicion.
Startled, Sun Xiaorui quickly shook her head, "I didn’t do anything. It was Mengting who dragged Lin Wan out to look for houses, I even tried to persuade them to stay. Told them I’d be moving out soon anyway, and this place would be empty, they might as well stay here until the lease is up. But Mengting was adamant about finding a place, Lin Wan couldn’t stop her, so they both went."
"You didn’t tell them about my purchasing the villa, did you?" Chen Feng asked with a frown.
In front of the two women, Chen Feng made sure to be as low-key as possible, playing poor, just to avoid turning their normal interactions sour, and also to prevent unnecessary trouble.
Especially considering Lin Wan seemed the money-grabbing type; if she knew he was worth tens of millions, who knows what she might try.
Sun Xiaorui hurriedly said, "Of course not. You said to keep it a secret from them, I definitely wouldn’t blab."
"Why are they in such a rush to move out?" Chen Feng frowned.
"It could be... maybe Mengting’s pride," Sun Xiaorui said weakly.
Chen Feng figured it was probably that. His rejection of a "reconciliation" with Wu Mengting, even though he offered to treat her as a sister, obviously wounded her pride.
Naturally, she no longer wanted to accept help from Chen Feng, her "ex-boyfriend."
"I’ll give her a call."

Wu Mengting finally spoke, "I don’t want your charity."
"What charity? The house is empty anyway, and besides, you are now my sister. Isn’t it right for a brother to look after his sister? Also, good houses and good landlords are hard to find right now. Wu Mengting ignored Lin Wan’s advice and simply asked Chen Feng, "Do you really see me as your sister?"

He figured being siblings instead of lovers was quite nice. At least that’s what he thought.

"She agreed to come back. From now on, I’ll treat her as my own sister. You should get along with her and give her some space."
Upon hearing this, the corner of Sun Xiaorui’s mouth twitched involuntarily; treating her as his own sister indeed. She suppressed the urge to retort and nodded as if it were all natural, "Okay."
"I got in touch with the former owner of Red Villa Bay. They will move out tomorrow. I’ll take you over there."
"That’s great!" Sun Xiaorui said excitedly as she ran over and hugged Chen Feng again, looking thrilled.
Chen Feng, seeing her happy, felt happy too and asked, "Have you prepared your luggage?"
"Almost ready. I don’t have that much stuff; it can all fit in your car in one trip. What about your stuff, do you want me to help you pack, or will you do it?"
"I’ll do it myself. I don’t have much either, and I’ll take some over tomorrow. There’s no rush."
"But if you don’t move all your stuff at once, it won’t be right for them to use our room, will it?"
Chen Feng shook his head, "Our room is not for them. Just because we move there doesn’t mean we won’t come back here. We can still come and stay a day or two when we have time. So no need to take any bedding; there will be new bedding over there."
