Chen Feng immediately nodded at him, stepped forward, and asked in a low voice, "What exactly is going on?"
Qin Zhen nodded toward the uniformed man next to him, then came over, put his arm around Chen Feng’s shoulder, and pulled him to a corner. Speaking quietly, he said, "A few days ago, I came here to sing karaoke and just happened to notice that someone was trafficking drugs here. After that, I conducted a covert investigation, gathered some evidence, and got in touch with the relevant departments, leading to tonight’s operation."
"So that’s how it is," Chen Feng said, realization dawning, while also admiring the sense of justice his close friend possessed.
"What about you? You didn’t come here to find a girl this late at night, did you?"
"Do I look like that kind of guy?" Chen Feng gave him a look and briefly explained the situation, then gestured toward his uncle, who was peeking over curiously in their direction.
Qin Zhen looked at the uncle, who was now standing in the crowd, gave him a nod, and the uncle, with bright eyes, promptly responded with an all-smiles nod.
"You’re quite unlucky then, to have run into this operation tonight," Qin Zhen said with a teasing tone. "You’ll have to go in for a urine test too. Only after the results come in can you go back."
Compared to taking a urine test, Chen Feng’s luck tonight was certainly indisputable.
"Alright, but help my uncle and me get our urine tests done early. I don’t want to wait in line until daybreak before I can leave."
Chen Feng was straightforward with Qin Zhen.
Of course, this was a small favor within the rules; Chen Feng wasn’t looking to get out of the urine test altogether.
So, Qin Zhen agreed very promptly, immediately leading Chen Feng and Zhao Guozhong out of the nightclub, spoke briefly to someone in uniform, and then the two of them took a police car to the station for their urine tests.
Watching the whole scene, the three guys led by Lao Liu were both shocked and relieved. They’d all originally thought Zhao Guozhong was bluffing when he boasted about how wealthy and impressive his nephew was, but now, seeing him shoulder to shoulder with the undercover police leader, whispering together, it was clear that he was a big shot.
No wonder he’d been unflappable in the face of someone as tough as "Flat-top Bro" and without a second thought had slapped Lao Liu across the face.
He had the confidence and the power to do so.
Chen Feng and his uncle were the first two to be tested, and thanks to Qin Zhen’s influence, the results came through quickly, both negative, so they signed off and left.
Coming out of the station, the two waited for a taxi on the roadside. Zhao Guozhong, full of sighs, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, took a long drag, and exhaled slowly.
Then, filled with emotion, he looked at Chen Feng and said, "Ah Feng, this time your uncle owes you big time."
Chen Feng rolled his eyes at him and said, "Uncle, not to criticize, but you’re old enough to know better. How can you be so naive? People flatter you, and you throw around your money without any sense. You spend money, and they call you a fool behind your back."
"You’re right. I’ve been too naive. I always considered them friends, but they treated me like a sucker. Those crappy friends—I’ll eat shit before I trust them again."
"Enough, let’s get in the car."
Chen Feng was still in luck; just as they were speaking, a vacant taxi came by.
They hailed the taxi, got in, and soon arrived at the Golden Summer Nightclub, where armed guards were still posted at the door, taking people in batches for urine tests.
The two of them didn’t stare, just walked past, got into Chen Feng’s car, and headed back together.
