Su Junxian’s handsome face turned ashen. "There’s no need," he said.
Li Rui and his medical assistant lowered their eyes and stepped aside, careful not to interfere in another family’s private matters.
Su Junling, however, thought back to Fu Bing from a few days ago. Fu Bing had lain in bed quietly, with no doctor, only a flustered assistant.
And Kexin? Despite faking her illness, she’s surrounded by a group of doting relatives.
Su Junxian entered the room and whispered into Su Jiang’s ear, "Dr. Li said our little sister isn’t sick."
Su Jiang wasn’t a fool; he understood immediately. He glanced at Su Kexin, who was rolling around on the bed. "Who accompanied her out today?"
Su Jiang strode out the door. Instantly, only Su Kexin remained in the room. The pain made her want to bang her head against the wall, but no one paid her any attention.
The driver, Xiaoliang, stood with his head bowed, trembling, not daring to look directly at the Su family members.
Su Junxian demanded, "Where did Miss Su go today? Who did she meet? Tell us everything, down to the last detail."
"Today, Miss Su first went for facials with the young ladies from the Lun and Liang families, and then they went shopping. Everything was normal," the driver relayed. "After Miss Su and her friends entered a café, she came out complaining of pain. From what I overheard her saying on the way back, it seemed she ran into someone she dislikes."
Su Jiang slammed his hand on the table. The force of it made the driver’s legs go weak, nearly causing him to kneel before Su Jiang.
Su Jiang declared, "That Fu Bing never seemed like a good person! We neglect her for a moment, and she immediately targets Kexin. Bring her to me! If I don’t teach her a lesson, she’ll think the Su Family is easy to bully."
Su Junling retorted, "Dr. Li said Kexin is faking her illness. Why aren’t you addressing Kexin, and instead looking for trouble with Fu Bing?"
"She cured your grandmother’s illness, which proves her medical expertise," Su Jiang explained, not wanting his sons to think he was abusing his power. "Making Kexin feel unwell without leaving external injuries wouldn’t be difficult for her."
"I don’t disagree with your suspicion," Su Junling asked, "but can you be sure Kexin is truly in pain and not just pretending?"
Su Jiang replied, "Junling, you doubt your own sister to defend an outsider. Do you realize how much your actions are hurting her?"
"I’m just stating the facts," Su Junling said.
Su Junxian interrupted their argument. "The shops in the shopping plaza usually have surveillance cameras. Let’s get the footage sent over. Then we’ll know."
"I’ll handle this," Su Junzhe said.
Su Jiang looked thoughtfully at Su Junling, swallowing the words, Are you in love with Fu Bing? Su Junling might only have a nascent fondness for Fu Bing. However, if someone were to point it out, that emotion could spread like wildfire.
The property management company overseeing the shopping mall sent over the surveillance footage. After they watched the video, the men of the Su family all fell silent.
So this is how Kexin behaves outside, like a bully relying on others’ power! Su Jiang was deeply angered.
The Su family had always upheld strict traditions, and he was particularly rigorous in the education and upbringing of his five sons. He believed that men must be tempered to become capable. Now, his five sons worked in different fields, but each was expanding the Su family’s influence and could represent the family.
Seeing Su Jiang’s prolonged silence, Su Junxian said, "Dad, strictly speaking, this matter isn’t much related to Fu Bing." Even a clay figure has a touch of temper. Fu Bing was discussing a partnership when Kexin brought people to humiliate her. Any normal person would have gotten angry.
Su Jiang waved his hand. "Junling, you’ve spent the most time with Fu Bing. What kind of person is she?"
"Aside from Mom, she’s the woman I admire most." Su Junling didn’t elaborate on Fu Bing’s specific qualities, so his statement lacked immediate persuasiveness for Su Jiang.
Su Jiang exclaimed, "She’s worthy of being compared to your mother?"
"I knew you’d be angry, but that’s truly how I feel," Su Junling said. "In your heart, no woman can compare to Mom; she’s the best, no matter what. But of all the women I’ve met, Fu Bing is the one who can compare to her."
"You’re just blinded by her beauty!" Su Jiang retorted.
"In your eyes, am I the type to be swayed by beauty?" Su Junling couldn’t help but retort. "You disparage Fu Bing for Kexin’s sake, and you don’t even trust your own son! Kexin is our family, and we love her—I can accept that as a reason, but it’s too flimsy. Dad, can’t you look objectively at what kind of person Kexin really is?
"First, she embarrassed Fu Bing in front of you. Then, she went to find trouble with Fu Bing where you couldn’t see.
"And after all her scheming, your first thought is that I’m defending Fu Bing, that Fu Bing must be at fault for Kexin to treat her that way.
"So, it seems everyone has a problem except Kexin, is that it?"
Sensing Su Junling was genuinely angry, Su Junxian quickly intervened. "Dad doesn’t know Fu Bing well; he can only judge her character from media reports," Su Junxian said. "It’s not like you, who has worked with her and understands her better."
"He just looks at people with colored glasses on," Su Junling said.
Su Jiang turned to Su Junxian and Su Junzhe. "You’ve both dealt with Fu Bing. Tell me what you think of her."
