After Reborn, I Became the Bigshots’ Beloved Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: It was Bai Qiang who asked me to look for you. Chapter 7: Chapter 7: It was Bai Qiang who asked me to look for you. After choosing a dress for Lu Sheng, Jiang Ting and Lu Qianrou were led by Xiao Li to another place to find those two expert makeup artists.

Another staff member approached Lu Sheng with a slightly apologetic expression, “Miss, all our regular stylists still have several clients each. It will probably take at least two and a half hours before it’s your turn,” he said, “so…”

“It’s okay, I’ll just wait,” Lu Sheng shrugged nonchalantly and casually found a sofa to sit on, picking up a magazine from the table to flip through.

The first page of the magazine featured an exclusive interview with Ellison.

Ellison rarely appeared in public, but ever since being captured in photos while styling a celebrity, his face, which overshadowed the male star, had gone viral. It attracted more online fans than some idols.

Ellison rarely did interviews either, and this was one of the few interviews he accepted.

In one of the questions, the journalist asked if, at the age of twenty-five, Ellison had any plans to get a girlfriend. Ellison directly answered that he already had someone he liked.

The journalist was surprised and asked which girl was so lucky to be liked by him. Ellison replied that meeting that girl was his fortune.

She was the firework that dispelled cold and darkness for him, the light that guided him when he was lost, the most unique and dazzling rose growing in the vast soil.

Strictly speaking, it wasn’t a shallow liking; his feelings for her were admiration, reverence, unrequited love, and secret adoration.

This report, when released, broke the hearts of many of his face fans at the time.

Lu Sheng closed the magazine.

After about two hours, Lu Sheng was still sitting on the sofa, but Jiang Ting and Lu Qianrou had already gotten their styling done and come out.

Jiang Ting was adorned in opulent grandeur, while Lu Qianrou fully embodied the demeanor of a rich family heiress.

Thick, seaweed-like black curls cascaded over her small, rounded shoulders, and a flowery headband was inlaid with eye-catching, dazzling rhinestones.

Her skin was white as cream, and she wore a white puffy dress. The blush on her cheeks was a delicate pink, making her look sweet and refined.

“Ah,” Lu Qianrou said, feigning surprise when she saw Lu Sheng on the sofa, “Sister, aren’t you in line yet? It’s been over two hours, hasn’t it?”

“Yes,” Lu Sheng’s expression remained unchanged as she smiled gently at Lu Qianrou, “The staff said I need to wait a bit longer.”

“In that case, Sister can continue waiting here. After all, there’s no rushing this kind of thing.”

“There’s still more than two hours until the banquet,” Lu Qianrou said, “Mom and I are planning to get our nails done. Then, Sister, you can just take a cab to the banquet venue, okay?”

“No problem,” Lu Sheng’s smile didn’t fade, “Mother and Sister, don’t worry. Although there are no taxis in the countryside, I know how to call one.”

Lu Qianrou contentedly left with Jiang Ting.

*Who knows when this Lu Sheng will get her turn—such an ugly, rustic dress paired with a rushed, perfunctory makeup job. It’s a wonder she won’t be laughed at when she shows up tonight.*

After watching their backs fade from view, Lu Sheng picked up the paper and pen provided for guests to leave comments, quickly wrote down a line, and then called a staff member over.

“Miss, do you need anything?” The girl looked as if she had just graduated from college and seemed a bit flustered when called over.

“I wanted to ask if Ellison is at the studio today,” Lu Sheng inquired.

“Our director comes to the studio every day. He stays in his office until late at night,” the girl replied.

“Could you give him something for me?” Lu Sheng handed the folded note over.

“Ah, that’s not possible, Miss,” the girl quickly waved her hand, “Our studio has a rule that without the director’s permission, no one can disturb him in his office…”

“The director and I are friends,” Lu Sheng said, “Trust me, if you give this to him, he won’t consider it an intrusion.”

The girl hesitantly glanced at Lu Sheng—*She doesn’t even look like she’s an adult yet. How could she possibly be friends with the director?*

*Could she be some kind of die-hard fan trying to leave her contact details for the director?*

But those who come to Crystal for styling are either rich or noble. Although this girl seemed to dress plainly, perhaps she really had some connection with the director.

“Just pass this along to him for me,” Lu Sheng added, “I’ll remember your favor.”

The girl, whose name was Chen Ya, thought for a moment, then gritted her teeth and took the note, “Please wait here for a moment.”

Interrupting the director might only result in getting scolded by the manager. But by helping out a wealthy lady, there might be some unexpected reward.

Chen Ya took the note and walked into the studio, her hands shaking as she knocked on the office door. A cold voice came from inside, “Come in.”

“Director, hello.” Chen Ya took a deep breath as she opened the door, speaking nervously.

Ellison looked up, his face expressionless, “What is it?”

“It’s , Director. There’s a guest outside who says she’s your friend. She asked me to give you this note,” Chen Ya explained, stepping forward to place the note on the table.

Chen Ya, wanting to be sure, had secretly checked the note earlier. It wasn’t contact information, nor was it a prank—just an English poem.

[In me the tiger sniffs the rose.]

Chen Ya, who majored in literature in college, knew this was a classic line from the British poet Siegfried Sassoon’s representative work “In Me, Past, Present, and Future,” translated into Chinese as “In this heart of mine, a fierce tiger gently sniffs roses.”

She thought the director might actually know the girl outside, but she didn’t expect him to frown at the note and then suddenly widen his eyes in shock, standing up swiftly from his seat.

“Who gave you this note? Where is she now?” Ellison took a deep breath to maintain his composure, but his hand holding the note trembled slightly.

“It was… it was a guest outside. She’s currently waiting in the lounge outside the clothing area,” Chen Ya stammered, startled by the director’s reaction.

“Bring her here to see me—or no, I’ll go find her myself,” Ellison said, not waiting to finish his sentence before leaving his desk, leaving Chen Ya in bewilderment.

Lu Sheng sat on the sofa, watching the clock on the wall tick away.

The next moment, a slightly trembling voice sounded behind her, “Sister, you…”

Turning around, Lu Sheng met the eyes of a slender, handsome, aloof man.

When Gu Zhi realized the girl in front of him wasn’t who he thought she was, the excitement in his eyes subsided instantly.

“…Who are you? Why did you write this poem to be given to me?” Gu Zhi took a deep breath, gazing at Lu Sheng.

“Hello, Brother Ellison. I’m Lu Sheng,” Lu Sheng said with a faint smile, “Bai Qiang sent me to find you.”
