Bai Hui finally met the girlfriend Bo Jingmo had talked about.
The girl came down from upstairs, her demeanor calm and elegant. There was a soft smile on her delicate face as she reached out her hand and said in a voice as clear as jade beads falling onto a plate, “Nice to meet you. I’m Yu Li.”
Looking at the hand extended toward her, Bai Hui was a little dazed.
She had heard Bo Jingmo say it was a schoolmate and thought it was just some ordinary girl.
But seeing her today… she realized just how wrong she’d been.
With that gracious presence, she could easily pass for the daughter of a wealthy family.
Realizing the girl was still waiting for a reaction, Bai Hui snapped out of it and quickly reached out her hand. Meeting her future sister-in-law for the first time, she stammered nervously, “H-hello, I’m Bo Jingmo’s sister, Bai Hui.”
Yu Li smiled gently. “I’ve heard Mu Hehe mention you. He always says his mom is really beautiful, and now that I see you, I get it.”
Wow, and he’d actually kept it from his own mom!
Yu Li’s eyes curved as she explained, “I’m Mu Hehe’s tutor.”
Upon hearing that, Bai Hui nodded repeatedly, subconsciously echoing, “No wonder, so you’re the—”
She instantly choked on the rest of her sentence.

Bai Hui’s expression shifted for a moment. She gave Bo Jingmo a subtle, ambiguous glance.
No wonder… No wonder Bo Jingmo suddenly came to her house, saying he found a tutor for Mu Hehe and that it took a lot of effort to get her.

He gently held the girl’s hand and said in a low voice, “You two talk here. When you’re done, message me.”
Yu Li nodded, then suddenly leaned in toward Bo Jingmo’s ear and playfully hooked his palm with her finger, her voice soft, “Boss Bo, don’t worry. I won’t embarrass you.”
Bo Jingmo was stunned for a second. The tension in his chest from earlier eased with her teasing. The corners of his lips lifted ever so slightly, and his fingertip hooked hers in return.
“All right then. I’ll be counting on my girlfriend.”
Bai Hui was still stuck in shock that Bo Jingmo actually took the initiative to pursue a girl, totally missing their little interaction. It was only when she saw Bo Jingmo suddenly turn and head upstairs that she blinked in confusion.
What… was that all about?
Leaving his sister and girlfriend alone to talk?
She looked away, and when she saw the friendly smile on the girl’s face, she suddenly felt a bit nervous.
Bai Hui silently scolded herself. She was supposed to be the older one, yet she didn’t come across with any seniority—she was the one being totally led by the nose.
She glanced upstairs, cleared her throat, and took the initiative to ask, “You and Bo Jingmo… how long have you been together?”
“Not long, just a few days.” Yu Li smiled slightly. “Should I call you Jie, like Bo Jingmo does?”
“……” How to even respond to that?
Actually, Bo Jingmo rarely called her ‘Jie’ either.
Bai Hui choked a bit. “Just call me Hui-jie.”
“Okay, Hui-jie.” Yu Li nodded, then looked at Bai Hui. “I won’t take up too much of your time. I asked Bo Jingmo to go upstairs because I actually wanted to ask you something.”
Yu Li’s smile remained unchanged, but her eyes flickered slightly as she spoke slowly, “I’d like to ask you about Bo Jingmo’s relationship with his parents.”
Seeing Bai Hui freeze, she added, “Or to put it another way, I want to know about Bo Jingmo’s past.”
Bai Hui quietly tightened her grip on the teacup in her hands.
Her expression shifted, and her gaze toward Yu Li turned unreadable. Her voice was heavy. “Why do you want to know about that? And why ask me instead of asking him directly?”
Bo Jingmo’s past was far from pleasant. Wasn’t he getting better now? Did he have another episode? Did the girl sense something was off and come to her in private for answers?
In Bai Hui’s mind, Yu Li was a normal person. And if a normal person heard about Bo Jingmo’s past, they’d probably be scared off.
Especially considering Bo Jingmo had finally managed to win her over… should she really say anything?
Bai Hui’s conscience and her dark thoughts were at war. One side was saying not to drag a nice girl down, that she had a right to know the truth. The other side argued it wasn’t dragging her down—Bo Jingmo wasn’t so bad now, and he was improving. That stuff was all in the past. Better not ruin their little relationship.
She suddenly felt on edge. She took a sip of tea to hide her inexplicable nervousness and guilt.
Yu Li looked at the nervous woman across from her and said with a smile, “I just know that Bo Jingmo doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents, but I never asked for details.”
She bent down to pour herself some tea and spoke at a calm, steady pace. “I figured… that must not be a pleasant memory for him. If I asked and triggered a relapse, that’s the last thing I want.”
The moment she said “relapse,” Bai Hui’s head snapped up, her voice laced with shock.
“You know about Bo Jingmo’s condition!?!”
He actually told her about that?
But the next second, the girl completely shattered her expectations.
Yu Li tilted her head, her expression pure and innocent. “Yeah, I know. It’s not a big deal. Why are you so surprised?”
When he had an episode, he was like a complete lunatic, totally irrational. Even a group of bodyguards couldn’t get close. And this girl… thought it wasn’t a big deal??
For a second, Bai Hui thought they weren’t even talking about the same thing.
“You really know? You might be misunderstanding. I mean…”
Yu Li cut her off with a soft smile. “I know. He hasn’t killed anyone, so you don’t need to worry.”
Just what kind of girlfriend did Bo Jingmo find?

Even though she was still in shock, Bai Hui couldn’t help but feel a bit relieved.

Yu Li looked up. “Hated?”
