After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain Chapter 24

Watching the evil ghost resurrect, the system perched on Yu Li’s shoulder like a curious child and asked, “Sister, will Cecil die?”

“No.” Yu Li patted its head, her eyebrows slightly raised. “He doesn’t have any intention to kill right now, and besides, he knows what he’s supposed to do.”

Rather than killing, the now rational Bo Jingmo was probably more interested in figuring out who the woman was that had deceived him.

As expected, Yu Li understood Bo Jingmo better than most.

With his memories returning, the enticing soul that had bewitched him disappeared, and Bo Jingmo reverted to his usual composed and aloof self.

He glanced at Cecil but didn’t make a move.

Unlike when he first entered the film set, driven by an intense desire to kill, Bo Jingmo now felt an unexpected sense of calm. It was as if something within him had been replaced—something that fulfilled him just as much as murder once did. A deep, all-consuming satisfaction, both physical and psychological.

And the source of that satisfaction...

Bo Jingmo’s gaze landed on the blonde woman collapsed on the ground. His emotions were unreadable, his fingertips twitching slightly as black mist dragged her corpse toward him.

Even the intoxicating scent of her soul—the very thing that had driven him mad—had completely vanished.

She was like a once-beautiful marionette that, without its puppeteer, became nothing more than an empty shell. No matter how stunning the exterior, without the soul animating it, she had lost all her former brilliance.

Just moments ago, he had adored this woman, unabashedly displaying his love. But now, that affection had dissipated in an instant.

Was it because this body had experienced amnesia, causing his consciousness to desynchronize? Had he truly lost control, allowing that ridiculous system to take over?

Otherwise, why was it that when he looked at this woman now, he felt nothing—none of the previous heart-racing excitement?

Bo Jingmo’s gaze grew colder.

A strange, hollow disappointment welled up inside him.

Remembering the people still present, he glanced at Cecil and spoke indifferently, “I won’t kill you.”

At those words, everyone—including the audience and Cecil—was taken aback, except for Yu Li.

【Bo Jingmo changed? He regained his memories and powers, yet he’s not killing anyone??】

【Wait a minute… Bo Jingmo barely killed anyone this time… No—aside from that neighbor, he didn’t kill anyone! Holy sh*t, I just realized!】

【Same! Jodie and Joeci were killed by Huli and Da Dong. Bo Jingmo actually held back this entire time?!】

【Did you all forget? He has a wife now.】

【Damn… The power of love is terrifying. Even though she was a fake wife, his feelings were real. Now that he remembers everything, he doesn’t love her anymore… Ugh, I can tell just by looking at his eyes—he’s completely over it.】

【Our ship was doomed from the start. Dream shattered.】

【But even after regaining his memories, why isn’t he killing anyone? Jiang Xi and Hou Liang are the protagonists, fine, but even Cecil is safe?】

Cecil, still processing what he heard, showed a flicker of surprise before instinctively blurting out, “Why?”

The way Bo Jingmo looked at him, as if he were an idiot, made Cecil realize what a stupid question he had just asked.

His face flushed with embarrassment, and he cleared his throat. Before he could say anything else, the man’s voice sounded again.

“Because my revenge is complete.”

Cecil was stunned and turned to look at him, but all he saw was Bo Jingmo’s cool, detached profile.

Under the night sky, Bo Jingmo lowered his gaze to the blonde woman within the black mist, his expression complex. Then, he suddenly turned back and repeated, “My enemy was Filia.”

As he spoke, a gentle night breeze stirred, rustling the leaves and creating soft ripples on the lake’s surface.

At that moment, the proud and distant young master of the Ye family—Ye Jingyu—seemed to have returned.

He stood quietly, his gaze fixed on the distant lake and forest. There was an air of elegant detachment around him as he let out a light chuckle. “And my servant is dead. There’s nothing left in this world for me.”

“They killed, and I personally dealt with them.”

Then, he turned to Cecil, curling his lips into a smile. “If that’s not enough, I can pay with my own life.”

Before Cecil could react, his eyes widened in shock.

The thick black mist surrounding Bo Jingmo suddenly turned ethereal, as light as drifting cotton. The moment the night breeze swept through, the dark energy dissipated into the air.

Cecil closed his eyes as he felt the lingering chill brush against his face. When he opened them again, the terrifying ghost was gone.

On the lake’s surface, the first rays of dawn broke through, signaling a new beginning.

It was as if the entire night had been nothing more than a terrifying dream.

Yet the corpse of the woman on the ground served as a stark reminder of the horrifying reality.

The golden morning light bathed Cecil’s face, his expression blank, as if he still hadn’t fully processed everything.

Just then, the reinforcements he had called finally arrived—late, of course.

“Father! Are you alright? I brought the items you asked for!” The man rushed over in a panic.

But Cecil only shook his head. Staring at the golden sunrise reflected on the lake’s surface, he murmured, “It’s over.”

Everything had finally come to an end.

Yet, in the end, neither the ghosts nor the humans truly won.

The screen slowly faded to black.

A line of text appeared:

[The film has ended. Thank you for watching. Please rate the characters you liked or disliked!]

As soon as the ending rolled, the chat exploded.

【Holy sh*t, Bo Jingmo, this is the first time I’ve thought you were actually cool!】

【Bo Jingmo has always been cool! He was just too unhinged before! But damn, when he takes acting seriously, he really takes it seriously. I almost cried at the end! The young master of the Ye family just wanted revenge, and once his enemy was dead, he was finally free.】

【So dramatic yet so thrilling—falling in love with his enemy before regaining his memory, then fulfilling his revenge and finding peace.】

【A ghost that killed humans. A human that killed a ghost. In the end, nobody won.】

【Bo Jingmo, you get five stars from me!】

【Same! But honestly, I’m giving those five stars for Filia. If it weren’t for her, Bo Jingmo wouldn’t have had such a compelling performance.】

【Agreed. Bo Jingmo, you should be thanking that NPC neighbor. Ugh, the beauty is dead. I need to rewatch this.】

【Filia was the real villain of this film. If not for her, none of this would’ve happened. She’s the true mastermind.】

【Yep. Everything started with Filia.】

Despite the flood of complaints, the actual villain, Yu Li, remained unbothered.

Her gaze fell on the ranking board. As the scores refreshed, she noticed Bo Jingmo’s rating had increased—by half a star.

Her lips curled slightly.

It seemed her little boyfriend hadn’t let her efforts go to waste.

From five stars to five and a half. It looked small, but as she scrolled through the leaderboard, she realized just how massive the gap was—hundreds of rankings apart. Some people were stuck just below five stars, unable to break through no matter what.

Yu Li, in a good mood, stroked the system in her arms.

For now, she was safe. The future could wait.

The system, enjoying the attention but still worried, muttered, “Sister, you really shouldn’t mess with your character settings so much. It’s dangerous.”

According to the original script, Filia never had any feelings for Ye Jingyu. She was just a typical greedy and ruthless woman.

Yu Li merely chuckled. “System, do you really think these rankings are just decided by the audience?”

Her fingertips slid across the ranking board, and her beautiful fox-like eyes gleamed with sharp insight. She curled her lips into a light smile and said, “If rankings were solely based on audience votes, there would always be die-hard fans and haters, making it impossible to maintain balance. That’s why the audience isn’t the only deciding factor.”

Everyone only saw the audience ratings, but the rules were written plainly.

Audience scores influenced rankings, but they didn’t determine them.

“The camera is what truly matters. Only with screen time do you get the chance to perform, to be noticed and liked by the audience. And the source of screen time—comes from the plot.”

She idly scrolled through the rankings, her gaze lowering as she chuckled. “Do you really think a horror film set assigns fixed protagonists? That’s just a label. Even the so-called ‘main character’ can die.”

With so many people on this leaderboard, how could they all rely on being the protagonist to rank?

Seeing the system frozen in shock, completely speechless, Yu Li grinned and patted its head. “That’s why I said—screen time has to be fought for.”

Otherwise, why would she have gone through so much trouble, taking such a risk, just to secure scenes for Bo Jingmo?

That guy’s condition was so erratic—completely unpredictable once he lost control. No wonder his previous ratings were so low. No screen time, no plot—if he had still scored highly, now that would’ve been terrifying.

It had only taken one performance for Yu Li to grasp the fundamental truth of the film set’s world. Ordinary players might need to experience several rounds to slowly figure it out, but she had merely glanced at a few audience comments and pieced it together with ease—boldly acting on her theory.

Almost as if… she had played this game before.

But how was that possible?

Aside from that person, the system had never heard of anyone successfully escaping from a film set entirely.

If the system had eyes, they would be sparkling with admiration right now.

As expected of its host! Absolutely brilliant!

Yu Li stretched lazily, her voice drawling, “Alright, let’s go. I’ve been acting for so long, I almost forgot I’m in a transmigration novel, not an infinite survival game.”

“Got it!” the system responded enthusiastically. Their figures disappeared into the white void.

Neither of them noticed the sudden shift in the audience chat—

【Huh? Wait, what’s this?】
