Li Yue saw that Wen Yan opened the door, talked for a bit then closed quickly; his expression wasn’t right. So, she was a little worried, “What’s wrong?”
Wen Yan leaned on the door to calm his heartbeat; he was about to reply but stopped. He couldn’t tell anyone about Jiang Zhou fox demon matter. He shook his head at his mother and locked the door, he noticed that the food Jiang Zhou bought was in his hand. He recalled the taste which was very good; it was something his husband definitely couldn’t make.
He had known Jiang Zhou for years; his husband cooking skill was mediocre. There was no way his husband could make this dish, there was ginger slice and rice wine inside; this was something only a real cook knew.
He was still thinking about it, but a weak baby cry surprised him, without hesitation he handed the soup to his mother and hurried back to his room. He saw Xiao Yi lying on his back with both hands waved in the air and cried pitifully.
Wen Yan hugged him, leaned him on his shoulder and patted his back gently. When he was pregnant with Xiao Yi; he struggled a lot. A ger pregnancy had many restrictions, without his husband he always worried and uncomfortable. This caused Xiao Yi to be born delicate and weaker than other babies. He wasn’t like a woman with breastmilk, it was difficult to feed the baby. Now, Xiao Yi already two months old but he was so little and the cry was weak like a cat. He was worried every day, whether his baby would be healthy or live long enough.
After comforting Xiao Yi, Wen Yan turned around and prepared to deal with the things that demon fox brought. But what he saw was his mother put the soup in a bowl and placed it on the dinner table.
Li Yue turned looked at him with a smile once she heard him came, “I just tasted this trotter soup, it is very good.”
Wen Yan’s heart felt like it was in his throat, “Have you eaten it?”
Li Yue was puzzled with his strange reaction, “I ate it. What’s wrong?”
Wen Yan only felt bitter, he dared to drink the soup was because he knew the fox demon might have something with him and definitely wouldn’t harm him. This fox demon was a bit weird, usually demon liked to hurt others. But this one still didn’t make any move to him, even so, the fox demon might hurt his family.
When he came back here, he went to the temple the next day to ask a talisman in order to protect his family. If the fox demon came, he must want to hurt someone with whatever things he brought. Wen Yan was a little anxious, “Did you feel anything wrong?”
Li Yue was taken aback, “What could be wrong?” she was simple woman, didn’t have much thought. She didn’t know what happened between the two, she saw the soup had a meat on it, I took a sip for a taste.
But Wen Yan was thinking a lot, he reminded her, “If there is anything weird, just tell me.”
Li Yue could only nod in confusion.

Jiang Zhou didn’t know that Wen Yan suspected him replaced by a fox demon. He knew Wen Yan wouldn’t trust him so he was prepared for the rejection. This matter was a little weird, so he could only try to slowly gained his wife’s trust.

There was only business left, Jiang Zhou and the traveler might share the same thought but he was slightly different. Selling spice might be a good business, but it was expensive business. He had the memories of the traveler; this would help him with his food business. The problem was some recipes had too many ingredients and complicated process. He had to choose an easy and simple recipe; he took a fancy on this dessert called steamed sponge cake.
This cake was soft and sweet, it melted in the mouth. The main ingredient was egg and sugar; this desert wasn’t too expensive. He was sure there would be a lot of people interested in this thing.
