Chapter 3: Our new roommate is here!
I spent the night at the hotel. Thankfully, I was able to sleep peacefully even after what happened that night.
It felt strange that I was easily affected by his pheromones. Did I need to get myself checked up properly?
No! That was the least of my worries. I needed to find a place ASAP and not just any place, a place that would give me an advance till I had worked enough money to pay.
I searched for the whole day and of course, there was no such place.
I was just about to conclude the day's search and head back to the hotel when I found a flier on a pole. It looked like it had just been posted because of the glue that was yet to dry.
Anyway, it said, 'one room for rent. Payment can be made in cash or kind! Anyone is fine, except for omegas!'
I blinked! This was my chance and luckily, I wasn't an Omega.
I quickly dialed the number. There was no way I was letting someone else snag such a golden opportunity.
"Who is this?" The voice from the other line asked.
"Um, I saw your flier! I'd like to rent the room!" I said, nervously.
"That was quick!" I heard him say. "Well, I'll send you the address. You can come over tomorrow and we'll discuss it there!"
"Alright! Thank you so much!" I said and waited till he hung up. As soon as he did, I danced in victory. Who knew finding a house was such a piece of cake. Or so I thought!
The next day, I went excitedly to the address of the place. Only from the outside, it was a nice apartment and it didn't look like whoever lived there was in need of money or anyone.
'Maybe that's why they said payment could be paid in cash or kind'
As I waited for the door, waiting for a response from inside, I heard footsteps.
'Okay, I have to be calm!' I told myself and put up a cheerful smile. But as soon as the door opened, my smile fell and I panicked.
How was that possible? Standing in front of me was the same guy that caught me in the restroom the other day. The world must be ending!
"You ... "
'Oh no, did he recognize me? No, maybe he just wants to say something else!' I thought positively but that wasn't the case.
"You're the boy from yesterday at the stalls!" He said and my insides screamed.
Yup, he recognized me. In an instant, I bowed my head.
"Good morning!" I greeted, refusing to raise my head. He looked so scary with that frown on his face. "I'm here because of the room vacancy!"
This Alpha, he was sizing me up carefully and I didn't dare to look up. I couldn't tell what he was thinking and wished my landlord would be someone else.
"You... you're not an Omega, right?" He asked to my surprise.
"Ah, no! I'm a beta!" I said, with my head still down.
"You can raise your head now. I'm not your father. You shouldn't bow so shamefully!" He exclaimed and turned.
What? Was it my fault that he was so freaking scary? Will I survive this?
"Come in!" He said and I walked in with light feet.
Gosh, the entire place smelt like pheromones. Once again, it felt weird. Why was I able to smell pheromones?
"Sit down. We need to ask you some questions before giving you the room!" He said, pointing at the living room sofa.
'We?' I thought.
But I quietly sat down and waited. I watched as he walked over to a bedroom door and knocked.
"Woo-Bin, it's time to get up!" He called out.
Woo-Bin, why did that name sound familiar?
"I want to sleep more!" The person in the room responded.
"Our new roommate is here!" He said and in an instant, the door swung open.
"Really? Where?" He came out looking more excited than I was when I saw the poster and then our eyes met.
This was Woo-Bin, right? As in, Woo-Bin, the celebrity? The supermodel and musician who won five awards during the national mega entertainment awards, after his solo debut? That Woo-Bin? No way!
Our eyes met and he stared, shocked. Wait, did he also know I was the one at the restroom? I lowered my head. This was so embarrassing.
But that wasn't the case as I heard him call out...
"Sun-bae?"
What did he call me? I looked up and in an instant, I got hugged by a supermodel whom I was having trouble recognizing.
"Sun-bae, it's really you!" Woo-Bin said.
"Huh? Do... Do I know you?" I stuttered and looked over at the other guy. He seemed to be angry all of a sudden. Did I, no, did 'Hae-Won' have something to do with them? With Woo-Bin?
